I like Oshino as the dispenser of all of these rules and conventions ("even worse, it's the left arm"). Definitely has an esoteric quality to him. Keeping characters like him out of the spotlight works both for and against the show: it keeps the magic concealed, simmering below the surface, but it also leaves us with mundane bickering. I'm not invested in the relationship between the two leads and Senjo is annoying as all get out. Definitely more interesting when Araragi is out meeting new characters. Seeing him bounce off of other personalities is one of the show's strengths when it's not veering into misunderstanding/overreaction humor. I appreciated the...~~I don't remember her name~~ Suruga. Wow. Anyway, I appreciated the whole "I'm a 000 to those who think of me as 000 and a * to those who etc etc etc" but perhaps that's because the show went out of its way to make it clear that hey, this was clever. But it leads to interesting character development. Commingling of dichotomous traits. Or maybe not so dichotomous. Senjo is developed upon that premise, too, I think. ...Oh right, Ep 6 was before that. I don't remember what happened other than it giving us initial impressions of Athletic Girl and that amazing non-sequitur final scene. Shaft visuals and music continue to be strong points. I think the fact that I'm acutely irritated by some elements is a sign that I'm enjoying this. It's establishing an interesting world/paradigm but I want to see what else it can do with it. I like to think that Saitama saw himelf in Boros backstory of being too powerful and thus held back just to give Boros a chance to go all out. Thus he said "yeah it really was hard" but when Boros called him a liar and said he knew Saitama held back Saitama had this "Yeah, I know it sucks" face. Saitama held back for Boros honor. Greatest hero.

Hmmm, looks like they don't explicitly state whether it's a continuation of the 97 one or not. It's been almost 20 years since then though so I imagine it would end up just going from the start once again, especially since the budget was kinda lacking for the original adaptation. Hopefully it doesn't go the same way the movies did and just kinda stop when they were supposed to go further.

Even though the manga is going slow I will never be able to discard the godlike art of the redraw and fall all the way down to an autistic three year old scribbles that is the webcomic. I believe whoever does the redraw said the liked the anime so much he wants to complete shit faster so hopefully that happens.

The redraw is just generic "good" art.

Realtalk, the webcomic artstyle works for OPM since it's not really supposed to be a serious series in the first place, it adds to the amusement even if the redraw is certainly more refined and detailed.

It's never good art but it gets better as it goes, and it's always good enough to portray what's happening well enough. Besides nobody that writes a manga with "good" art would take the time to add the details ONE does in these wings here. So since OPM was never about the art for me but rather Saitama, the other characters, and the plot being silly, I find the webcomic equal if not superior to the redraw in that respect. Different strokes for different folks and all that but if you really can't understand why somebody would enjoy the original OPM and think ONE's art is no better than a three year old then lol.
