Sidonia chapter 77 - Sidonia goes full anime/soft scifi with a mech fight in the core of a blue star, which is aaaall kinds of impossible - R.I.P. Though honestly that death didn't do a whole lot for me, surprisingly. I was expecting to be more affected, but I think waiting for the updates really let the emotional climax of the ending cool a lot, so it was kind of just like "... okay then" At least this paves the way for best girl to win the Tanikazebowl - Ochiai did nothing wrong (apart from everything). I was kind of surprised some comments were still calling him a hero. He kind of lost that status when he declared he was going to destroy Sidonia. Literally why. - Also saw some neat comments speculating the Gauna were a higgs-based lifeform, or something that evolved from Higgs. Evidence certainly seems to support that, and it posits a nice explanation for why they bubble so weirdly when they die.

At least, he's using a couple of their characters in Rumble. Peo's free to offer his opinion, but so far it is that bad. I'm only halfway, and Simple said in his post that it does get better after the half so we'll see but just a few things that I don't like so far: -Manufactured drama that I can't find realistic at all and often doesn't even make sense to me. -Some of the twists I believe are happening later are painfully obvious. (This may be down to knowing what emotion people generally associate with the show going in) YLIA spoilers However, I feel like I would have picked up on the medicine scene + firefly scene on my own anyway. -Flashbacks that amount to the same thing just over and over and over again. (Like 3 or 4 times an episode)

Yeah, I'm not sure if YLIA will be my thing even though it's about music, but I suppose the only way to find out is to watch more.

Second half's plot feels somewhat more natural and better paced, but I still find most of the characters and conflicts relatively unnatural.

The last episode did a lot to undo what the second half worked to build in regards to my opinion of the show.

Here's the list so far, went over things with Silvy and picked out some stuff to try Comet Lucifer - TV -/- Da Yu Hai Tang - Movie -/1 Digimon Adventure tri. 1: Saikai - Movie -/1 One Punch Man Owarimonogatari - TV -/- Shisha no Teikoku- Movie -/1 I have varying expectations, but yeah. Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Gensou also looks pretty hilarious, and it has Bones's wonderfully colourful/80s style.
