Idunno, maybe I'm just jealous that a bunch of high school girls can dick around all day instead of practicing and still have tight performances. I would've been interested in seeing what kind of series K-On! would be if Azusa, Mio, and Tsumugi were the only main characters, or if it wasn't based on a 4-koma, that would probably help. As it stands, K-On! is an insult to the hard work and dedication of musicians everywhere, atleast KyoAni redeemed themselves recently with Sound! Euphonium though.

Also, just because a lot of other anime nowadays is shit too doesn't mean K-On! is any less shit. Seeing a protagonist cheese through all their fights effortlessly because of "natural talent" makes me want to vomit too. The problem with K-On! is that there's absolutely nothing serious to it, it's literally just "cute girls doing cute things" with some gags thrown in, and it even throws aside the subject matter it set up in its premise just to focus on giving you more of that. Literally the only thing to take out of K-On! is "lol it has cute girls", so if that's all you need in a show to feel satisfied with it I guess that's more power to you. It's not terrible at the end of the day, but it's something that will never go past being exceedingly average because the contents are pretty much fluff, as it was intended to be.

Super talented protagonist is so common you'll probably see it even in good anime, is what I'm saying. Obviously some do it more obnoxiously than others though, but either way, might want to get used to it a bit.
