I'm not sure if it's taking place after the recent movie or if it's just using the characters from that movie but doing something new, as if the events of the movie never happened. Anyway, looking forward to the next episode - Vegetas family trip. Good times. Actually never mind searched it up: "The series also ties in with recent movies Battle of Gods and Resurrection �F�, as they are converted into sagas within Dragon Ball Super."

That's one of the joys of watching movies of mass produced series such as DBZ or One Piece, they can take their time and make good animation instead of putting out as many episodes as possible, as fast as possible, as cheap as possible.

The beginning two episodes are fairly predictable, but I think it gets reasonably good later. The worldbuilding is definitely the highpoint for me, but I also really enjoy the 3D animation style. It's a breath of fresh air and lends a different "feel" to the show. The 3D does improve, but if you don't like it and it prevents you from watching the show, oh well.

First episode seemed... padded, to put it lightly. Content is fine, but it's clear that it could have been shortened to maybe 18 minutes instead of 24. Anyways, I watched many first episodes today since I was busy being at Anime Expo. Akagami no Shirayukihime is my favorite of the bunch, but I'll be following the rest that I watched as well: Gatchaman, Durarara, Gangsta, Ushio and Tora, Classroom Crisis, and Charlotte.

I'll keep with it and see how it goes, the classic fairy-tale feel is nice.

I dunno, I think it was definitely slow at some points but I don't think any of it was strictly unnecessary. Also I finished watching all the premiers I missed while I was on vacation, now. I feel like Gatchaman had the strongest of the shows I'm watching, and Durarara had the weakest, idk what it is about season 2 that makes it so hard to watch. Still waiting on the God Eater premier, though.
