Also apparently being independent, forward and compassionate aren't good traits to have. But then, it doesn't exactly make that much sense in the first place. lol Nasu What were you unsure of, Shiroi? UBW ep 24 Off the top of my head, when Gilgamesh was mudbathed in the end of F/Z, he was basically tainted by the Grail, which Nasu handwaves that the Grail somehow is still inside him, so that even after it's destroyed, when it has an "opening" in Gilgamesh for the taint to escape it starts trying to Grail again. But yeah it's dumb and doesn't make much sense

So that wouldn't really help clarifying things. Right? And it's only Nasu's shitty writing that leads to the "corrupted Gilgamesh" argument

UBW The grail already tried to take Gilgamesh, so it didn't seem unreasonable for it to try and take him again despite being destroyed. Nah, I was referring to the reappearance of Archer. I can kinda rationalise it by him being a Guardian and so appeared then to protect the Earth - but it seems kinda deus ex machina to me. :S

But they didn't, and he did, so here we are. Spoiler: click to toggle Servants are pretty durable if you don't hit their head or heart though, since they're just spirits. Assuming Gilgamesh didn't pierce him there is basically the only wiggle room there is for this plot.
