Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.

I'll check that out, Simple. I'm watching UN-GO on your recommendation now, and I'm enjoying it quite a lot.

Cool beans. It garnered a hefty amount of early criticism because the mysteries themselves felt unsatisfying, but UN-GO is more about the big picture and how it incorporates noir into a modern setting.

Marathoned the entirety of Oregairu just now. I really couldn't stand it at first, but it's pretty highly praised by people whose opinions I trust. And what do you know, it improved vastly by the time the fifth episode ended. Pretty hyped for S2 now.

Seccy "no fun allowed" Secundum

School Ningyo just got 6 more chapters added.
It's only 9 chapters long (7 released so far), and I'd recommend reading it. It's horror genre.

~Burning Upon My Pyre~

Watching Valvrave right now, with an immediate backlog of random stuff that I need to watch, which includes RahXephon, The Big O, Kodomo no Jikan and New Getter Robo. Madoka was wonderful.

...and I have a friend at work nagging me to watch Nozaki-kun and Cute High Earth Defense Club, the latter of which makes my eye twitch. I may or may not even touch that one.

Mangawise, reading the Linebarrels manga and have come to the conclusion that I don't hate one over the other. The manga IS a bit more awesome, though.

So the first episode of Seraph of the End.

I enjoyed it enough to want to continue watching it. Cliché settings and characters but I feel it has potential. This being a pretty rushed prologue episode. I'll be generous and give it...four episodes to convince me.

Pretty animation and backgrounds.

So I'm going to check out Fate/Stay and Fate/Zero. Is it good to start with Fate/Zero since it's a prequel? I want to start with it but sometimes it feels like they do prequels for the people who's already seen the original and sometimes prequels works perfectly as a start and an introduction to the original.

So, Fate/Stay or Fate/Zero first?

Fate/Zero first, Fate/Stay Night not at all (unless you're talking about the new Unlimited Blade Works, I guess).

I watched them in the opposite order, and F/Z suffered for it, because you ultimately know how it ends. It would be better to watch it first (and then honestly, maybe not even watch F/SN).

Isn't Unlimited Bladeworks a sequel to Night? Zero, Night, Bladeworks? Or is Bladeworks a remake or something?

UBW is an adaptation of an alternate route for the visual novel F/SN (the original anime adapted the Fate route). UBW is prettier, but still suffers from the same dumb high school setting issues, and the same dumb main character.

However, the non-main characters are generally better and more interesting. Someone who's more familiar with the VN routes can tell you if F/SN is worth skipping for UBW, if you want the full story.

Ah ok. But Zero is still connected to and works as a prequel to both routes?

The Light of Hope

Fate/Stay Night takes place 10 years after Fate/Zero. Being a visual novel, Fate/Stay Night has multiple branching paths that all begin at the same point, but differ depending on what choices you (or the characters, really) make.

The original FSN adaptation was a hodgepodge of every route or path in the visual novel. Unlimited Blade Works just follows one of the routes.

The UBW anime sucks, don't bother

I'd say even the original F/SN anime would be a better way to spend your time, but the ridiculous difference in animation and art quality (well, quality in general) between that and Zero will really throw you off.

Just watch Fate/Zero.
