Phew, for a moment there I was ready for a normal size black and white ending. Still sad about the final rematch battle being so short and bad. I was ready to finally put the "war" behind me and at least end it with the fight fans actually waited for. A fight where both Naruto and Sasuke have to struggle, and use everything they've learned this far. A fight where even fans like me, fans who more or less only still follow it because we've gotten this far, can enjoy. Not that I can remember the last time Naruto used anything except anything rasengan or shadow clones. But still, a decent epic fight where both show of their skills to their very limit.

But no. We get the flashbacks we've seen more times than I can remember and thus don't really have any emotional connection to anymore. Both of them using their godly powers to clash one time and then one page where they just take turns to mindlessly punch each other. A page which would've been fitting after a long and grueling battle. This is spread out over 3 chapters. 3 chapters which could've been used for actual Naruto ninja fighting. You know, those long forgotten things...what were they called, ninjutsu, taijutsu and genjutsu I believe.

And to complete the circle we all know it's going to end with a TnJ. I see the manga ending two ways atm. Nobody dies in either of them. Probably doesn't even lose at all. In one, Naruto and Sasuke share the title of hokage like Hashirama and Madara talked about at the early days of Konoha (very probable if we're looking at manga forshadowing and the miraculous power of TnJ). In the other, Naruto becomes hokage and Sasuke runs away to "create his own destiny" or something similar.

Of course the end result can be different but I doubt 699-700 will surprise me. I'm prepared for the ultimate TnJ/Flashback/Homoerotic combo which can bring even this determined Sasuke to his knees.

Don't be mistaken, I'm happy if Kishi surprises me and proves me wrong but I still doubt we'll get much of a fight from here on out. Time will tell.

Also I'm sad personally that I'm not hyped at all for this. I really did love this manga for a long time and it had a very special place in my heart.

Be careful with that, I'd put that stuff in spoiler tags if I were you lol. But yeah, I completely understand where you're coming from, this battle was overall pretty underwhelming, even if the chapter we got last week was fairly good. It needed to be extended by at least 5 more chapters. The anime will hopefully take some liberties and extend the fight by a satisfying margin.

And yeah, no one's dying if The Last is any indication.

Taking a break from Shinsekai Yori for Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun.

Well, Psycho-Pass 2 ep 3 is still pretty Urobutcher/10
Oh boy, was wondering when it was going to get Urobutcher even though he's not doing the writing.

Got 20/50 on that thing.

Yeah, I noticed the writing was different in style. It's more of a straightforward detective series, with references to mystery tropes and conventions, and an open villain. Curious where it goes.

I did a podcast thingy with some other anibloggers about Fall 2014.

If you have an hour's worth of time and curious as to how other people are reacting to this season's shows, by all means have a listen.

4/50

The only three shows on there I'd seen (Madoka, Barakmon, Terror in Resonance) and the one whose OP is known by everyone (Attack on Titan).

And according to the data, 20% of people either don't know it or gave up before the song played.

I don't think I know the AoT OP either.

Almost done with Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. I'm loving it. So funny and just the right amount of cuteness.

I read a manga called Conveni-N and it was weird as [radio edit] yet kinda hilarious so I finished it.

I mean look at the genres "Comedy, Ecchi, Gender Bender, Mature, Sci-fi, Seinen, Supernatural"

How can you not want to read that quality stuff.

"Ecchi, Gender Bender, Mature"

You know shits about to go down.

I definitely have reasons as to why I would not read this.

One being that it's borderline hentai. By a goddamn hentai artist.

Two being that there's no possible setting other than the confines of my room where I could read this stuff and not get disgusted looks.

Three being that I'm not particular to crude sex/bowel humor.

Those are some examples as to how I might not want to read things like Conveni-N. Now if you'll excuse me I need bleach for my eyes.

He does hentai? This is like when I found out the guy behind Highscool of the Dead did hentai. It's not overly surprising but still.

Maybe Kishimoto gives up and does hentai.

Speaking of Naruto...

Mushishi is pretty much a masterpiece, I recently caught up with it. I'd suggest anyone that likes it to also check out Natsume Yuujinchou. A lot is different, but it's the same concept of one guy solving supernatural problems in an episodic format with a good art style.
I second this. Mushishi is extremely underrated, and Natsume Yuujinchou falls into a similar (even if not quite as spectacular) archetype. I only wish that archetype was done so well more often.

...

Against my better judgement, I'm re-watching an old anime I saw as a kid, and fully realizing now how terrible it actually is. The initial 153 episodes of Dragon Ball still have their quirky charms, though. Maybe that's just nostalgia talking. Watching the episodes at 150% speed sure makes the painfully-bad parts less painful, at least. U:

So on Wednesday I binged all of Fate/Zero. Sorry Gil, you can impale me on Ea later.

Generally speaking, my thoughts are that it was really good.

Anything more specific you can ask me in private if you're interested, since spoilers are all over the place in anything Fate-related.
