Saturos Spoiler: click to toggle A particular point I liked about Rin and Sakura's dynamic, surprisingly, came when Rin was saving Shirou. From what I remember, I think in the VN it was a mix of some kind of weird suppressed feeling Rin had for Shirou coupled with the Sakura thing, but in the anime, Rin's key point is "How can I look her in the eye tomorrow?" or something like that. I thought that was a nicely subtle way of pointing to Rin's motivation as being to preserve Sakura's happiness, even if at arm's length. I thought this was a great line to emphasize too.

Very slow start for an anime, due to following UBW so closely. If I didn't have a raging hardon for Nasu (see avatar), I might not have enjoyed the first half. Rin is blushing a lot more than I recall. I rather liked the revival scene. The line about looking Sakura in the eye was pretty sweet... but it doesn't quite make sense unless you already know the Shirou/Sakura connection (which wasn't showcased this episode, I think?). Also daaamn the fightscene.

Certainly not much happened, but it didn't feel to me like there were any scenes that didn't reveal character or shade additional depth. Maybe the montage of Rin showing Archer around town wasn't necessary, but that was what, all of five-ten seconds? I don't deal with sincere praise well either, so I relate to Rin in blushing at the slightest thing. xP Hm, you're right, people would probably not understand that if they didn't know the connection. In that case, I guess it's more to serve a bit of mystery? Though it's probably confusing... until next week, of course. I'm okay with that, I think.
