The second one will likely be Shirou's prologue, so the actual UBW route won't start until the third episode. Either way, hopefully there's not too much walking in circles.

As said before, we already know we get the Lancer fights to spice things up too, so it's not just talking. There's also much less characters to set up, since you just follow Shirou and Rin- oh you're just hating Shirou again

True Name: simplechild	Fate/Stay Night is a story that I enjoyed eight years ago and haven't gone back to since (technicslly it's four if you must count the UBW movie). I'm worried that I only enjoyed it because I was younger and less cynical at the time. Though to be fair, hearing that they're spending two good hours on setup doesn't bother me much because I was able to get though Shinsekai Yori just fine, and that was five hours' worth of setup before anything worthwhile happened. I also got thought Shiki just fine and that spent a season and a half setting things up too. I didn't even mind F/Z's setup episode that much, either. I'm much too used to talking heads than I'm comfortable admitting, now that I think about it.

At some point, I re-invested in sincere emotional narratives, because the pose of detachment is just as much of an affectation as anything else. So it's really just a matter of finding your personal litmus. Aka, I can't say whether you'll like it or not. I read Fate/Stay Night two years ago and I still found stuff to like, but you're much more widely experienced in anime/Japanese media than I am. UBW does have some cheesy parts, but I think it's still a solid enough narrative. I like Heaven's Feel more, but I eagerly await seeing what Ufotable can do with it. Especially because they said they were going to make it into a real Fate/Zero successor story, and "fix" Shirou as a protagonist. Lel Boyd, I actually enjoyed Rin's prologue a lot. Shirou's not so much, but yeah. We'll see what Ufotable can do.

Definitely that classic scifi dystopia, reminds me of Equilibrium a bit (considering how much Urobuchi fanboys that, maybe not surprising). This is a decent weekend anime and game-wise, all things considered (new Naruto OP/ED today, SSB tomorrow, as well as a new Fairy Tail OP/ED, and then UBW on Saturday). I have to wait until my brother gets home that night to watch it though, grrrr

Some pretty good characterization so far. Might as well watch ep 3. EDIT: dat ep four opening Talisman is incredible edit 2, ep 4 Man, I totally knew Talisman was going to be recurring villain-tier. You don't use a design like that for a monster-of-the-week. Really loving that ep's theme of online/anonymity as a way of escaping from Sibyl (also the name Sibyl itself as a classical holla. Also the Nietzsche quote Urobuchi showing his westaboo side again edit 3, ep 5 LOL or not. Some nice animation this episode. I should've known, the murderer's design was too generic/not bishie enough to be a villain. Oh well, still good so far

But I'm going to watch that coming movie which will take place after the end of the manga. How's the anime these days? Some of the fights were absolutely beautiful but most of the times only Bleach had worse animation, and sometimes it Bleach even had even better. Oh and gnik, you enjoy Fairy Tail right? Then I really recommend One Piece for you friend.

That episode was pretty damn sweet, too. They're all the way up to Obito's second Jinchuuriki form. The next episode is the first mention of Kaguya, I believe. Kakashi vs Obito was the episode with awesome animation; that and the Madara vs Kages are well worth watching. UBW today woohoo
