Yeah, I think that was the general consensus before that PV. Seems pretty action-packed and solid visually(muh 3DCG). Looking over my MAL, almost without exception (like, Maou-sama kind of?), 12-episode adaptations without more seasons have kind of sucked. Silvy and I were thinking of watching Tatami Galaxy. I haven't heard a single opinion stating the anime lives up to the manga for TG so I'll probs drop it. Short anime-original series tend to be fine but it's frustrating when an adaptation only covers enough to give you a taste so I'm gonna lay low on currently airing adaptations. Dropping Akame ga Kill as well, I'm still buttmad from that atrocious fight scene at the end of ep 3. The lazy animation and stupid comedic timing definitely aren't helping it either. There's also the various series I've been neglecting for airing stuff like Tatami Galaxy, Jojo's, Shinsekia Yori, Shiki, Katanagatari, Fafner and w/e so I'd like to get around to those anyways. I'll still keep with Terror in Resonance and Aldnoah this season though.

At least in the first fight against the white mech, anyway. I feel like a lot of anime just makes the smart protag like 'Kirito' smart and it's a nice departure from that. However it was noticeably lacking in the second fight against the white mech, but maybe becaue he already had a feel for its weaknesses? idk I was also surprised the emperor wasn't a nice guy but that's probably because the other guy got to him first. In the end I agree with you, though, this looks like it's shaping up to be a fairly generic mecha show. Episodes 4 and 5 were major letdowns after 3.

Aldnoah He's the most forward thinking Martian we see in the show, with the whole "let's investigate this shit before we go to war thing". Though, that could easily have been a ploy. At the very least up until the scene with what's his face (The Terran that lives with the Martians) he doesn't appear to be a battle hungry war monger like the rest of the orbital knights.

It was a pretty quick flipflop though, like even if it makes sense, it was so fast it's like unnessecary since even before that he was established as being manipulated and loving his granddaughter.

I do agree that the show has "incoherent philosophy," in the sense that it doesn't posit a single takeaway "message." For me that's a good thing and one of the best things I like about it. But yeah, either Evafuzzy little man-peach or trollpost. If anyone I actually care about (literally any of you) seconds that post I can rebut it, but at the moment it's "laffs"

I'd imagine with the write (har har) work, the same could apply to any form of art, it'd just take more given how much more stuff is involved. After all, if everyone has ANGRY MARINE faces but are talking in sweet little loli waifu voices for the entire anime, I think people would be laughing at the animation budget rather than talking about the deep social commentary as presented by the little lolis.
