Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Don't worry, the confusion never really ends, it just fades a bit.

Homusubs is an update of Suffering Subs with the translation a bit clearer. At this point though, might as well just wait for the official movie. 8D

Working on pulling together a final list of series for my panel. I wish I'd had a chance to watch and rewatch even more, but I guess there's always next year.

The List
Moshidora
The Tatami Galaxy
Katanagatari
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Ga-Rei: Zero
Haibane Renmei
Ano Natsu de Matteru
Girls Und Panzer
Kamichu!
Hataraku Maou-sama!
Library Wars

I need two more, and one or two of those I'm a little iffy on, but... I'm enjoying Sakura Trick, but I think that's going to be more of a guilty pleasure than something I can earnestly recommend. Same with Free! I was interested in Norigami, but I don't know if that meets my specifications? Might want to finish Kyouso Giga so I can (probably) use that, and maybe Serial Experiments Lain? Does anyone have any recommendations for surefire hits? I have a few maybe-tier shows that could pad out the list: Another, Baccano!, Angel Beats (ehhh), maybe Rideback or Kino's Journey, and I haven't finished Kannazuki no Miko, but the pacing on that one's so sloppy as it is that I don't feel comfortable using it right now.

Kill la Kill 23 was [radio edit]ing hype. Totally marathoning the series before next week's finale. Fantastic series all around, even though it's likely the most egregious example of Boring Invincible Heroes since Bleach.

I'm probably gonna check out KLK after the con. I've seen enough to intrigue me.

Man if Draco can endure the fanservice of Kill la Kill I don't even know what to believe anymore.

Yeah, it's a lot of fun. Light on story and substance, but the overall concept is pretty great, and the humor is top-notch from beginning to end. It's the first anime I've seriously enjoyed in several years.

And as Satty says, the fanservice is just rampant. That the show approaches it from a mostly comedic angle is what makes it tolerable (even hilarious) for me, but YMMV obviously.

Huh, and here's me having heard a lot about feminist readings of the show. Satire/criticism of the male gaze and stuff. Guess not.

Yeah, there was a ton of buzz about "fanservice as satire" back when the first few episodes aired, and from what I understand it's still a common interpretation of the show. The only reason I don't entirely agree is because I think the writers are just trying to be as outrageous as possible in every respect, from plot to humor to costume designs.

I'm planning on rewatching the whole thing once it's all over from a more analytical standpoint, because there really is a lot of great thematic material in this show that I'm currently just ignoring in favor of the spectacle.

Well, I guess I'll form my own judgments if/when I watch it.

Lain seems to be a REALLY love it or hate it show, but I'd say it's a good recommendation regardless. If they don't like it, it's only 13 episodes so it's not a huge loss of time. Noragami is pretty shounen but it seems like a good show(will probably have more seasons though). Yeah, I've heard Kannazuki doesn't get better until the very end, and even then it isn't great.

For the 13 episodes anime the only thing I can add is Mnemosyne: Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi. I thought it it was alright and it's 6 45 minute episodes which is basically the same length. Though it's very graphic and has a couple yuri scenes.

I really need to watch Madoka but I'm worried it will be too depressing for me. <_< I started Nanoha but I'm not feeling it so far. It's pretty generic and not much happens.

Yeah, Nanoha is pretty meh until episode 4, where it gets better, and then kinda trashes a lot of normal magical girl conventions around episode...6? Maybe 7. And then A's is just all around good.
