I really liked it and GitS overall definitely deserves a spot in my top 5. Though I don't like how they handled the last episode and the resolution to some plot lines. One can argue the purpose wasn't a true resolution that tied things together with a neat little bow as GitS isn't about that... but it left me unsatisfied and I wish I could have seen it handled differently.

They wrapped up the Ryuko/Junketsu Satsuki/Senketsu thing so quickly, and without loss of life or limb. Are you for real. I thought this was going to be a legitimate development in the narrative, not a single-episode event. That we're (presumably) back to the status quo after such a crazy twist last episode just baffles me and is precisely the kind of safe writing that I was hoping Trigger would avoid this late in the story.

Like wtf @ that giant tongue at one point. I wasn't a huge fan of Kamina, but the show really drags without him right now. I get that this marks the beginning of what I'm hoping will be Simon's actual character development, but at the moment the angst pervading throughout the team is just irritating (Yoko is especially unbearable). On an unexpected note, I thought I was going to hate Nia, but turns out she's the only one around with any sense. That's mostly due to her naivete/idealism, of course, and because she didn't know Kamina or how highly everyone regarded him, but either way I ended up liking her far more than I thought I would. Hopefully it keeps up. Also the Spiral King's whole "you dare say/do X?" thing with Adiane at the beginning of the episode was alternately infuriating and awesome. That's the kind of villain dialogue I like. Both characters have the best voice acting in this dub, btw.
