True Name: simplechild	I mostly recommend it because its premise/subject matter is a lot more accessible to a lot of demographics in comparison to other anime. Until you realize you're watching a completely different anime in the second half. I'm interested in seeing all the reactions towards that portion, regardless if it's overwhelmingly negative.

I kind of like it! Show gets all of my praise, but I think that goes without saying at this point. I don't think I've enjoyed an anime this much since I first saw Akira in my early undergrad days. Just phenomenal. Still hate that "we're all related!" twist, though. To me it just makes the show's world seem so much smaller and adds a familial dimension to the conflict that the story didn't really need. On that note, I'm going to try to sit down with Gurren Lagann this weekend and see what I've been missing out on.

Their names rhyme it would be so cute I am watching the dub of NGE because it's too hard to read subtitles on my phone. I have grown to tolerate all the voices, and actually enjoy Misato's, but Asuka's can be hard. Especially when she screams things in german. I heard Shinji's VA present in a convention once, he told a funny story about a date who wanted to watch his work. He brought her home and had her watch NGE and after a few minutes of listening to him whine, it sounded like the date was over. He realized NGE was not good option.
