The 6th movie (whose director is working on F/SN) I've heard is poorly adapted. And as forewarning, the first movie makes like zero sense.

The narrative's finally progressed on a macro level and everything's just huge and awesome and multi-dimensional now. It (potentially) remedies what I was complaining about earlier by placing Ryuko and Satsuki's rivalry in a different context than just them yelling about how much they dislike each other. I love it. EDIT: Some dude on NeoGAF summarizes it pretty succinctly: Spoiler: click to toggle The true plot is no unveiled and it turns out it is Chrono Trigger. The Original Life FIber is Lavos, Ragyo is Queen Zeal, Satsuki is Magus and Nui is Dalton. This is all making sense, this is all making way too much sense.
