I kept watching until the tenth episode and then couldn't keep going because of how the art styles clashed. I keep wanting to rewatch/complete the series, but something always makes me pause.

Excellent visually, excellent music, good characters, and perhaps it's best point was how interesting the world it self was, and the state it was in. Unfortunately... I kinda feel like the overall story was missing a real goal, or a conflict to be resolved, and nothing really happened in the end. Something was missing. I mean, the individual story arcs were great, but they didn't really seem to connect in a meaningful enough way for a proper, overall story imo. So yeah. Great anime in general, but not perfect.

Like Sunday Without God spoilers Why is Dee a ghost in the world, if Alis is the one who died? But yeah, based on the first six episodes, it would've been a totally amazing anime. But I agree, there was zero resolution at all. EDIT: Having just briefly looked at Accel World and read a summary, it looks like another example of "ugly guy gets beautiful girl just because" wish fulfillment

I have to admit the female lead looks gorgeous though, clearly we can't have that unbalanced attractiveness going on. Sunday Without God would've been great if it got another season or cut out the whole second half and focused more on the characters of eps 4-6. The very end wasn't even part of the light novels anyways.
