Also, regarding the preference for anime that follow their entire source material: are you simply wanting to avoid ones that cut off and feel incomplete? If something adequately covers a portion of its source material without leaving you going "wtf", would that be fine?

Reading F/SN will spoil some F/Z things, and reading F/Z will spoil some F/SN things. ... though actually, yeah, finish F/SN first. There's some things you'll be able to get the full impact of without it.

Slash, direct any and all Fate inquires to me I bet what happened was that you stumbled upon Draco don't click this until you finish it butthurt Saber fuzzy little man-peachs that were butthurt that she didn't get to stomp all over everyone/Gilgamesh And yeah, now that you've started F/SN, finish it before Zero. Doing either first is fine, but once you've started one, don't go to the other, finish it.

Storm Anything that fully adapts its source material, not something that gets one or two seasons and then gets abandoned while the manga/light novel continues. Here's a list of stuff that goes against this criteria yet stand on their own as good anime: Mushishi Hourou Musuko Chihayafuru (They'll eventually adapt all of it but it'll take a few years) Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei Sakamichi no Apollon Baccano! Durarara!! Nichijou Toradora! Hyouka Detroit Metal City Here's an actual list of complete adaptations that I recommend: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood The Tatami Galaxy Shinsekai Yori Nodame Cantabile Honey & Clover Shiki Clannad Most of the anime I like happen to be anime originals, so my lists aren't too extensive.
