I was mainly wondering for fanfic purposes, like, what sort of injuries, not damaging the soul gem, might either kill a magical girl or be beyond the power of her magic to heal. Like, Kyouko's soul gem is below her throat. If she got decapitated, would she be dead, or could she go all dullahan and carry her head around? Man, that would be pretty sweet, not gonna lie. She'd totally rock it.

However, she comments that she wouldn't have been able to recover from that herself. Nothing on the endurance aspect besides pain dulling is ever mentioned, pretty sure. Though Sayaka shows that the healing aptitude differs per girl, but she's probably the best of it that we've seen. Could probably look at the wiki to see if there was more detailed stuff but I've been staying away from that to avoid Rebellion spoilers.

I don't think it covered how she would recover from it (perhaps Kyubey can repair their bodies, or maybe time would restore it on its own). The movie clarifies the issue slightly by blatantly showing her Soul Gem shatter in that scene.
