Certainly worth a watch through if you haven't yet. I went with chronological order and it made a... reasonable amount of sense that way. So I'd recommend that. I was surprised how well done and tied-in-to-the-series its movie was when I watched it afterwards.

It's great -- since Haruhi is divided between single-book stories and short story anthologies, some of the standalones are great. Just skip episodes 3-7 of the endless eight saga.

"Oh, we'll get one episode to set up the loop, then, oh, okay, a second one to drive home that it's a repetition, and a third to close the- no, the third's another repetition. It's great that you trust us to give you good information, but remember that it's also a useful skill to be able to sort through multiple sources and use critical thinking to sift out what is good and what isn't. =)
