Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Hype get.

I really enjoyed Mushishi despite getting into it rather late in the game. Would love to see a continuation.

Oh, are they finally maybe getting around to S2? Huzzah, I'll have to actually finally finish it then. And then maybe hunt down the manga.

Finished Hataraku Maou-sama. It didn't lose any momentum, maintained its fun atmosphere to the end. Then again, nothing really got resolved. I hope they do another season.

Okay, are all magical girl series really freaking weird, or am I just managing to watch only the outliers of the genre?

It might help if you told us what you were watching.

But the answer is probably a little of both, leaning more towards the latter.

You're supposed to read my mind, Peytral, jeez. I'm watching Princess Tutu.

At some point I should try a typical magical girl series, although after Princess Tutu and Madoka Magica, am I just gonna be bored? >.>

Probably. Most typical magical girl series require being able to stomach anime targeted towards single-digit-aged girls.

And being able to watch things that are 50+ episodes.

There's stuff like Symphogear and Nanoha which are much more shounen than shoujo, but at the same time they're... pretty freaking shounen, and still fairly atypical.

inb4 Mirtral recommends doki doki Precure.

Yeah Simple, I'll probably check out Mushishi soon enough. I still have Psycho-Pass and Utena on my to watch list beforehand but after that I'll give it a shot.

EDIT: and Peytral beat me to posting, but didn't even recommend what I was expecting him to, what a disappointment.

If I was going to do that I would've cut to the chase and done so sooner.

Draco, watch Sailor Moon.
I am keeping an ear out about the new Sailor Moon thingy, in hopes that it will be short and seem interesting.

I'm just hoping it actually exists, and doesn't get delayed again or canceled.

I would recommend Cardcaptor Sakura, being pretty standard and straightforward magical girl, but it's way too long for you.

However, given its very episodic nature, you might be able to simply watch it interspersed with other shows...? Or maybe in shorter "seasons".

Prisma Illya is very typical magical girl, is kinda a gateway into Fateverse, and is only 12 episodes. And the animation is super pretty.
There's a bit of unfortunate fanservice, but it's also really badass. Also famous characters from myth and history fighting magical girls. Beat that.

Someone give me a second opinion on Satty's fangirling. His talk of twelve episodes intrigues me.

The manga was awful. It's boring and way too much monster of the week. I can't speak for the anime adaptation, but I doubt it's much different.

It's okay. Main thing it has going for it are the production values and fights, but aside from that nothing much stands out about it and it'd be a lot easier to appreciate if you're already familiar with Fate/stay night.

It starts off pretty standard with a few awesome moments but nothing special but then gets interesting once it hits 2wei, which will be season 2.

solbowz spoilers monster of the week is standard magical girl

...not sure about recommending it to somebody who hasn't seen/read either Fate/Stay Night or Fate/Zero though
