The real toy commercials are Precure and Toku. Gundam is nowhere near their levels Peetroll.

But it's okay because you watch Precure and Toku too.

like there's been three episodes of KyoukainK and pretty much nothing has happened
that's a third of the show and the heroine is still just nothing but moe

I almost don't want KyoAni to do Haruhi :I

Well, is Kyoukai no Kanata based on anything? Because Haruhi has its plot mapped out in the novels, so it'd be harder for them to screw it up.

I think it's actually quite common for studios to screw up adaptations of light novels/manga/VNs so it's a possibility. I'd still like to see KyoAni do some more Haruhi personally and yeah, KnK is based on a light novel.

Yeah, I've dropped Kyoukai no Kanata as well. If I wanted moe, I'd watch more K-on seeing as it's cuter, funnier and the main characters are all musicians so it's instantly better. The whole school-kids fighting supernatural beings with supernatural abilities has been done to death, and done better before.

Golden Time remains enjoyable and the characters are starting to get pretty interesting. Also, you love the shoujo romance opening Satty, don't even try to deny it.

Too bad Haruhi has the same syndrome as Spice and Wolf and now To Aru.

Wasn't KnK the one you were trying to get me all hyped for, Satty?

Light novel adaptations that never actually get continued are an unfortunate truth that happens way more often than it should. I'm hoping loli-gravekeeper doesn't join those ranks considering how little was actually resolved in that show(and a horrible ending that was apparently changed from the light novels). I've heard multiple people say it probably won't though ;_;

Yeah, that's probably the other KnK he was talking about, which is fantastic.

Oh, no, I was just abbreviating it as KnK, I remembered him showing me something about a girl using blood magic to fight off monsters in her school. Is that Kyoukai no Konata?

Oh wait, yeah that's Kyoukai no Kanata. The show actually did look pretty good from the PVs as well as being considerably dark for something that came out of KyoAni.

Not a big fan of this week's Kill la Kill. I appreciate that they tried to move forward with the story and elaborated on how the outfits work, but it felt too much like a typical shonen episode and not, say, a parody of such. But if it's just a sign that the show has plateaued in terms of overall craziness, then I suppose I would be fine with that.

Got a kick out of the Dead Leaves reference, though.

I just finished watching it and I have to say, it was kinda meh at parts and the fanservice is starting to get annoying-ish. That fight scene made up for everything though, that was like an injection of hot-blooded epicness. I hope to god the show doesn't turn into an episodic "student-council member of the week" kinda thing.

Yeah, it was an excellent fight scene. That implosion toward the end of it was hilarious, what with the students being propelled outward, then sucked back in, then launched into the distance again. I suppose if the episode was meant to warm the audience up to Satsuki as a rival to Ryuko, then it definitely did a good job.

Most of the KlK-related talk I see these days is about how the studio will be eschewing the monster-of-the-week template soon, probably because the director's last show did something similar. I wouldn't know, though.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I actually didn't see any difference between the two versions of Ryuko's outfit. Will have to rewatch in a bit. =P

It's okay it's foreshadowed that Mako's going to destroy all life in the universe so it'll probably get crazier.

Yeah, I'd love to see more focus on the Ryuuko/Satsuki rivalry(and more on Satsuki's character). Episodic is usually a recipe for disaster so that'd be great if they avoided it like the plague.

The only real difference was that her shoulder pads got a shit ton spikier. I was somewhat disappointed by both her's and Satsuki's "true" outfits though. Was hoping for more dresses, cloaks, heavy armor and such, although I suppose I can live without that at the end of the day.
