Despite that this show is shoujo as fawk (that seinen classification is a lie), I actually quite like it. Totally called the cult thing as soon as it zoomed in on everyone's necklaces.

But yeah, dialogue/characterization isn't as "realistic" now, but I was wondering if the characters might be symbolic. Koko has her whole life planned out and has from her childhood, hence why she's repressed her spontaneity and is out of touch with how she actually feels (rarely laughs when she's with Yana). So she's one who has goals/lives in the future. Meanwhile, Banri has amnesia so has no clue as to his future OR his past -- he does nothing but live in the present, so he's all spontaneity, and by corollary, can become anyone (faking the cult conversion, as an example).
So Koko is "already full" and seems to have no room for anything else, whereas Banri is empty. It's a neat binary.

Also, I feel that like Toradora, the secondary heroine is going to be way better of a match than the primary. Banri-Linda 4ever, even if he always gets her name wrong (interesting mirror of Koko messing up his name at the start).
Apparently this is really similar to Toradora, but I haven't seen that, so it's k.

Also that cult dinner was way more tense than anything in Kyoukai no Kanata, if only because from the "we shall resurrect 10,000 years from now!" I was expecting a mass suicide thing.
