Also, Tao carried the episode enough for me. Miss Monochrome is AotS until Flamenco starts.

There's time shenanigans between the first scene and the rest of the episode, Ragna is some sort if criminal, Noel and Jin are a part of the military and Hazama and Rachel are the people in charge of what really goes on.

I actually haven't played Calamity Trigger directly, just got its story through the summary in BBCS:EX. And man it's confusing enough in the game because they explain NOTHING, so you only get the whole picture after like... after six story modes. So yeah it's a cluster[radio edit] and it's glorious.

The story is more convoluted then any I've ever seen, and I've even played the games. Of course the Anime is gonna be a mess too.

None of the characters feel really at all, dialogue's artificial, motivations are cliche, etc... the action scenes are great, though, and the animation is kinda nice. Just watched ep 1 of Golden Time, and was pretty impressed. It's a shameless romance, but I don't know whether it's because it's a better slice-of-life or it's more relatable because university, but the dialogue is generally realistic. I can certainly pick out similarities in the characters and think "Yeah, I've seen that before." I like that the protag is a shameless romantic. I feel like it will suffer from Toradora-itis in that the chosen heroine/love interest is predetermined, though.

The generic "oh miss all the orientations" thing is pretty meh.

I'm just glad to have something that's romance/harem that doesn't have several girls fawning over a main character with no other male characters having any significance whatsoever. It does feel rather Toradora but I'm not complaining. Kyoukai no Kanata is just a huge bundle of meh so far, animation is nice but the characters seem dull and unrealistic(actually it's mainly just Mirai being awful). The whole supernatural/slice-of-life highschool thing has been done plenty of times before anyways so it's not like it has an interesting premise.
