And yet... that was just plan FUN to watch. I mean, it's not a particularly amazing anime in a lot of respects, but it didn't really screw up anywhere either. And seeing those tank battles play out in that kind of setting was just really fun. During the tank battles, a lot of the camera angles in particular were very amusing, and made the combat that much more immersive. Pretty good stuff.

I saw a link to the first episode when it came out, and I was all like, "lol, let's see what this gay swimming anime thing is all about," so I decided to watch a few minutes, except I accidentally the whole thing, and then I thought I'd watch it when it finished airing except the next week I found the next episode and watched that, and then it was too late.

Oh, I expected it to be silly and absurd, but I didn't think their attitudes towards how dangerous what they're do is to be THAT absurd. They treated it like it was no more dangerous than a game of paint ball. And don't get me wrong, it was more fun the way they did it, but it is what it is. And yes. It was wunderbar. My mother often mixes German words and phrases into what she's saying, so seeing it mixed in with subtitles in an anime made it that much more fun.
