Nah, you don't need to read/watch any other Nasuverse stuff to understand it so go for it. The majority of the series isn't that confusing anyways, it dives into the 2deep4u in the 5th movie and the epilogue but that's about it.

True Name: simplechild	I recommend Kara no Kyoukai if only for Ryougi Shiki. I was never keen on the series waxing philosophical every chance it got, but it's beautifully animated and has a good soundtrack.

Best anime I've seen in a long time. Characters were great, the setting was great, the music was great. It started strong, and I kept fearing that every other situation that came up was going to turn into something I wouldn't like, or had seen too many times before, but it kept impressing me more and more as it went on. This is the kind of anime that I'd pay money for a physical copy for (one day).

That's good enough for me. Also, Peo, Simple, would I like Star Driver, do ya think? It's pretty good. It does have some really nice character development when it wants to, and the animation is great. Fights are okay as long as the 'antagonist is winning until protagonist pulls out a new weapon/skill of the week and wins' doesn't bug you. Oh, and expect some characters to be left annoyingly underdeveloped. Speaking of my tastes, I'm really liking Majestic Prince so far~ Izuru is so hot blooded yet so moe.
