Since Ilya in-verse is a magical girl fan, it tends to draw attention to itself as fiction. 2wei is unfortunately the most fanservicey, but you see "canon Ilya" pop up, in a way. Regardless, I never made claims for it to be "art" or even objectively "good," so it's not something I tend to recommend much to people. It definitely gets better as it goes, anyway.

Again, I'm interested in why people like the things they like. I find child characters endearing across all media, really, probably because I'm easily entertained by actual children (which is itself maybe a product of having crazy amounts of younger siblings? dunno). That's pretty much what spawned my two Rumble teams made up of kids. Quote: lolis are ESPECIALLY awful when used as romantic interests. This is really only acceptable when the other half is of similar age, and the romance doesn't get ridiculous. But yeah not when all the other choices are young adult women for this young adult guy and then all of a sudden there's some preteen girl too. That's pretty creepy. Shut up Boyd.
