It's... different. And I like it because of that. I love Mushi-Shi. Since you like Mushi-Shi, you should watch Kino's Journey and Haibane Renmei (if you haven't seen them already). On the topic of VNs, the only VNs I've ever played through are sound novels, and those are Narcissu and True Remembrance. I wanted to pick up a bunch of games from Hirameki when they were still around, but never got around to it. I'll probably pick up Higurashi and Umineko at some point, though.
