Joker really gets around for somebody who breaks his bones that easily. And he really starts channeling Han Solo by the end. It's pretty cool. And yeah, I pretty much assumed that the Collector ship was a trap from the get go as well. Still wasn't a very effective trap though.

And dude... even if you want to accept the consequences of your actions, this is GARRUS. Go back and let Zaeed or Jack bite it, but don't let GARRUS die. With Wrex gone he's pretty much the single most hardcore member of your entire squad! GARRUS is so good that his name should be spelt with capital letters from now on. GARRUS is the turian that all turians should aspire to be!

Anyway, I'm still desiring to play the game despite beating it a couple of days ago, so perhaps I'll go explore the whole galaxy, play a Hardcore file, or make a female renegade Shepherd as a class I wasn't before. Maybe Sentinel or Infiltrator, something tech-based as opposed to biotic-based this time.

Also, just for one: Commander Shepherd is a jerk.

I know it's GARRUS man! He's the greatest! Definitely top 5 in the games! (Not gonna lie, Joker and Anderson beat him out) To me, that makes it all the more bitter that I have to deal with his death. I just hope there's more to it than "Garrus is dead, sucks for you lol".

So I've spent much of today reading up more on potential up-and-coming DLCs and discussions about ME2 and ME3. I've been listening to the OST almost non-stop which is really good. I even read up what people thought of it on Metacritic, and it's currently ranked something like 6th out of every game EVER.

I can't get enough. I just want to replay it again and again. I'm completely hooked... goddamnit, this has to be one of the best games I've ever played, no joke.

Fo sho. I"m currently doing two playthroughs at the same time - kinda. I'm gonna run through with my New Game + Shep, and I'm also playing as an imported Femshep, just on normal. She was an infiltrator, but I switched to Sentinel.

Wanted the collectors edition. They said they weren't taking preorders for it. Tried to buy it on release day. Said they would only sell if I had a preorder.

...*eye-twitch*

Now honestly thinking of trading in my normal copy and paying through the nose for a few extras >_>

Anyway, I was my trusty old adept. I screwed Tali (how could I resist those sexy hips and voice). Thane and Grunt sadly died, despite everyone being loyal, but I went back and made the right decisions to get a perfect ending. And, of course, I blew up that horror of a space station.

So many characters were awesome, Legion, GARRUS, Tali, Thane, Mordin (oh god he was brilliant)... I even had a soft spot for Zaeed. And they obviously decided that since they made Joker a bit of a badass at the end of ME1 they would do that x10 million in this game. And his interaction with EDI just made it better.

I'm going to go back and play ME1. I never really decided what my final choices would be, and that needs to be properly settled. Plus I didn't actually reach level 60.

Good luck with your ME1 playthrough. For me, ME2 was so good that it's given ME1 the Oblivion Effect - it's so far advanced that I can't find as much joy as I did in the previous one. But I do need a new playthrough just to get to Level 60 or something, since I had pretty much all the choices I wanted/needed ready for ME2.

The Collector's Edition isn't *amazing* by the way. It just gets you instant Cerberus Network, an artbook, a comic, and some in-game armour and an assault rifle. Neither of which was overly impressive, though the armor was pretty good until you got some upgrades and could customise your default set. But I suppose it's not bad to have.

I wanted the Collector's Edition just for the "I own the coolest version, booyah!" feeling.

Come and Take It - Temple Tsundere

Well, I beat this a few days ago. I was my imported Soldier Female Shepard. Didn't romance anyone, instead
choosing to stay loyal to Liara. No one was left behind. Had Jack and Tali in my party at the end fight. Blew up
the Collector station.

Also, my thotz on the playable characters, because i'm like that:

--

Miranda: Miranda reminds me a lot of Pussy Galore from Goldfinger: She has to be banged into righteousness
by the hero to be awesome. That said, her loyalty mission was kinda heartwarming, even if we do see way too
many shots of her butt in her talks.

Jacob: Jacob does a really good job of being the only person who's not messed up until his loyalty mission, and
then he wants to commit patricide. Nice job, man.

Garrus: Man, what did they do to Garrus in this game? Now he's just depressing. I didn't even want to use Garrus
because he was depressing to look at. Also, he like calibrating guns too damn much.

Mordin: I always thought it was weird that you didn't get a Salarian in the first game. Mordin's got some cool
abilities and he's at least funny, and his loyalty mission is awesome, too, I guess.

Jack: Jack is pretty much the only reason i'd want to play as a Male Shepard. She's so woobie-tastic, even when
she's killing everything violently. Also, she has the best alternate costume.

Grunt: Man, Grunt has a badass voice. That's about all I can say for Grunt, though. It is kinda hard to fill the shoes
of Wrex, to be fair to him.

Thane: The first time Thane did his memory recollection, it was during his loyalty mission setup and I had no idea
it was coming. I was understandably freaked out. That said, Thane has a badass voice. I briefly thought about
romancing him, but decided against it in the end.

Samara: The best character in the entire game. She commits Filicide and afraids of no one ever. I don't know why
anyone would have her killed for Morinth.

Tali: Everyone loves Tali. EVERYONE. I think this is an undisputable fact. She's the Auron of Mass Effect.

Legion: I'm not a big fan of Legion, but hey, having a Geth around on your side is awesome. Also, you may possibly
set into motion a truce between the Geth and the Quarians, which is five kinds of holy shit awesome.

Zaeed: The only character I absolutely hate. What an asshole.

So I followed the romance subplots with each of the girls, solely because I like to follow dialogue paths to their end, but also wanted to remain loyal to Liara for ME3, so when I finally came to the "Make a choice, Shepard" scenes, I backed out.

And then, right before the Omega 4 Relay, comes Jack.

Who flips the [radio edit] out.

I was really depressed about that, because Jack was a great character, one of my favorites, and I hated how there was no middle ground there. Either you sex her up, or she hates you completely. Still used her in the final fight, though, along with Tali, who I also felt bad about shooting down. Was both my attempt at making up for being a douche and also because I'm pretty sure they're crappy defenders. Everyone survived, so I obviously picked right. <_<

Also I cheered when Garrus took off his helmet. Loudly. I was [radio edit]ing estatic.

Good job HJ, it's always good to see that people are respecting the mother[radio edit]ing GARRUS. And yeah, it does kind of suck that there's no middle ground for Jack, but then that is kind of her character, so... yeah. Also, how could you turn down Tali? You heartless monster.

Well. It's been a year since I played through Mass Effect 2 and I still can't get the series out of my head. I still regularly think on it and fight cravings to replay them both since I have other things to do. I leap at any news of Mass Effect 3 and watch the teaser trailer every couple of weeks. I've well and truly hit a level of fanboy for this series that I don't think I've reached since Golden Sun and Baldur's Gate before it.

I think it's high time I replayed the series from beginning to end and make the choices that I'm happy with following through with into Mass Effect 3. Male Paragon Shepard, no romance in the first game and Tali in the second. There will be no deaths and I'll try and get as many bonuses and as close to full completion in both as I can. I also have access to pretty much all of the ME2 DLC that I need to play through completely as well. Probably play on Hard/Veteran difficulty.

Any suggestions for what class I should play?

Also, this was linked by Bowse in the Sbox a couple of days ago and is worth a watch/listen.

Aside from the announcement trailer, I'm trying to stay totally out of the loop until ME3 arrives. Marketing ruins everything, not to mention I do want it to be a total surprise, even if marketing were good at it's job.

I think you should play Vanguard, even though you already have. It's my favorite. I've got a soldier right now. I actually don't know why I didn't make her an ADEPT!!! (I literally just now realized I should have. I named her RIVER. Come on, now.)

I am trying to keep up on DLC though, and I know they've got some cooked. I know they aren't ready to release it yet, for "some reason", but they should, because everybody in the world would buy it immediately.

I did a vanguard playthough from ME1 to ME2 and it was pretty fun to play as that kind of class, Especially in ME2.

But I already played Vanguard, as you said. It's fun, but the novelty of the Charge wears off pretty quickly, and then you find yourself behind cover with five people shooting you down in seconds, especially on harder difficulties. That seriously limited its usefulness in the second game. I was thinking more along the lines of Sentinel or Infiltrator.

Infiltrator for me. Tactical Cloak is wicked fun.

Death comes to all of those who oppose me.

I also romance tali and Mordin died despite succeeding in ever mission but Zaeds sp. Although Thane is one of my favorite Characters in any game ever. I play as an infiltrator, mostly because I love the sniper riffles. Nothing better than a headshot.

Infiltrator seems like the way I'll play come next game around. And yeah, Mordin has a chance to die just by bad luck in some cases. I forget exactly what triggers it, but some people are always going to be at risk.

Thane is a great character though, I agree.

Lemme guess where Mordin died:
After the Seeker Swarms part when you leave almost everyone to sort of "hold the line" when you head to take out the Human-reaper?

Best way to prevent that is send Mordin back with the Normandy crew (make sure he's loyal). Otherwise, leave loyal Garrus, loyal Grunt, loyal Zaeed and loyal Thane behind and that should make the defense roll high enough to ensure that everyone survives.

^ Yeah, that. I had everyone survive. :3

Also, I played through Adept on my first ME2 file, which was amazing, then Vanguard in ME1, and now I have another playthrough with Adept, but I might switch over to Vanguard, just to check. :3
