Hmm, so I've said more than once that my favourite book series is the Saga of Darren Shan. And that a movie was coming out, already released in America.

The scheduled release date here was January 7th. And I sat and stayed calm like a good boy.

And what did I get?

11TH MARCH. WHAT IS THIS?!?!?!?!

That sucks if you were looking forward to it. Personally, I'm always wary about films based off books that I like. =/

I find that the movie never lives up to the book. I watch the movie, but I know that it'll be laughable compared to the original writing.

ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS

!!!!!!!! I totally forgot about that series! I read them when they first came out, like the last one was four years ago or so? They were AWESOME! Damn I wonder if I still have them around!

I didn't know they were making a film. I'm very wary about this. Is it all 12 books in one film? That would be a fail. >_<

I was really confused at your original post until I got to your latest one. Then I looked at the timestamps, and everything made sense.

Odyssey, ya see~ Odyssey, ya see~

I second being wary of films based on books, but Willem Dafoe IMO is awesome, so it shouldn't be too bad. =P

You saw it?
Anyway, t'wasn't so bad, actually. Ironically, though, the climax, was, predictably, a battle between one side and another. The book describes it as being a"over in 4 moves" or something of that sort, and that they were fighting to kill, not to entertain. The movie seemed to do the exact opposite. :D

For some odd reason, they kept twists that were showed near the end of the series in the first one, and if you look at the character development, it looks WAY to fast. You see the emo schoolkid Steve turn into a cold-blooded murderer in a week, as opposed to 20 years or so. You see two best friends go after each other's throats within that same week. And the Evil Chessmaster gives away his role in the first half hour, as opposed to the very end of the last book.

They had a new character, but I don't mind that so much, and the plot was severely cut down and built up in places, not always a bad thing but not a good thing either.
