Oh, wait, it's not even a caricature. Yeah, Marigold annoys me, too. >_> Also, I hope that this is going to be Jeph getting more into worldbuilding the QC universe in regards to the role of AI in their world and how it is (or isn't) regulated. I like his worldbuilding arcs. They're much more interesting than "LOL FAYE IS A BITCH, LOL MARTIN IS A hot hunk of manmeatGOT, LOL HANNELORE IS OCD. ALSO, LGTB PANDERING NONSTOP."

At this point, the comic needs a token functional hetero. All of the existing hetero characters aren't written like real human beings (Hannelore, that Asian whose name I forget, Marigold), or are minor characters in the webcomic (the 12-year-old's dad, Sven, Marten). Come to think of it, isn't she asexual? ** The last major event that happened to Marten was he got a guitar. Before that it was getting a job at a college library. The library was a device to introduce more characters. The guitar has done nothing.

And eh, that really doesn't bother me too much. But lol @ Martin being a minor character. An inconsequential character, sure, but he's still in like every panel. But I'm not going to make it some kind of "straight rights issue" because there's no "hetero" character. =P Also Emily's probably asexual, given that she didn't get "sleep with Martin" EDIT: What about Faye and Angus, Adna?

And he's right about Marten; at this point, he's less of a character and more of a decoration. Something to fill the panels so Jeph doesn't have to draw more intricate backgrounds The new character is an asshole. If she doesn't get further character development, she's going to be really boring :c

Faye isn't even remotely functional, and Angus, one of the most fascinating characters in the comic right now, is on the back burner due to the story spending time with the WoW characters, one of which has been made more interesting than the other in a fraction of the amount of screentime that the other has received thus far. Chew on that sentence for a while - done yet? K, Dale is a million times better than Marigold. We have hardworking WoW player (!?) with a potentially tragic backstory versus unidimensional "hi I am a walking parody" Marigold. Truly, I think Marten has been relegated to being the universal foil for the strip, if we want to be a little bit more generous than calling him "decoration."
