Come and Take It - Temple Tsundere

For a while, i've had ideas. Great ideas for original worlds. Why, I was just showing them to Necare the other day. His mind was blown by the awesome. Let me tell you about them: --------------- I've got three different worlds. One is a fantasy world and the other two are placed in the modern world. So here we go: --------------- Twin Moon World Twin Moon World is the fantasy story. It takes place on the continent Rasali, more commonly known as the Twin Moon Continent. There were other landmasses, but all of them disappeared; only Rasali is left. The area gets its name from the fact that Rasali was the only place where it was possible to see two moons in the sky at night instead of one. Now, there were Moon Gods who made the planetoids their home: Sarvest and Aoumoria. The two weren't very nice gods, and they used their powers to shower Rasali in perpetual twilight. There was even a Moon Cult on Rasali who worshipped the gods, keeping their power intact. That was until the Rogue Hovris and a small retinue of five others took out the Moon Cult and then the Moon Gods themselves. The sun's rays of light hit Rasali's earth once again. The six warriors parted ways for a time. Hovris and the cleric Venion went back to the city of Justice, controlled by the despotic Justician Empire and their King, Karthin. Eventually, Hovris and Venion orchestrated a rebellion with the Rogues and the Chapel of Alunheid to kick out the Justicians and take the town for themselves. Prince Raleigh of the Quetolu nomads, and Pandora, the cursed child of the Kulerii amazon tribe, fell in love over the course of the journey and united their tribes in marraige, stopping a bitter war once fought over the twilit plains of Southern Rasali. The Drakonian Sol, who has the blood of dragons in his veins, took the corpse of a creature back to the Drakonian Empire, whose superior intellect and logic have allowed them insight to the history of Rasali. Schnider, a Freezani, took a log of his travel back to the secluded town of Freezan, shrouded in a wintery mountainous area. The Freezans had never left their town before, so this prompted a great pilgrimage of Rasali for their empire. The six heroes met once again some time later and formed a faction dedicated to peace in Rasali; the Hisah faction. All was well. But the peace was about to be shattered. The Moonkin, a rebirthed sect of the Moon Cult, had managed to slip under the noses of the Hisah leaders, building their members up until they had enough power to pull off the ultimate plan: Revive the Moon God Sarvest. It worked...perhaps TOO well. The Moonkin were unable to control their god, and Sarvest broke free, creating a massive rift in the crust of Rasali where he dwells today. Every creature on Rasali felt the impact of Sarvest's ressurection. Now, the continent is threatened by both the revival of a destructive god who lives inside the landmass, and the sting of war. Thankfully for the Moonkin, they were not facing this alone. Soon after the failed summoning, the Moonkin were contacted by the Ciasa Beast Tribe Alliance, including the Lanche (Bipedal serpents with scythes in place of arms), The Justicians, The Elementals (The oldest race on Rasali), the Xelans (Souls of the Damned given flesh once again), and the Waterwyrms (Dragon-people made entirely of water). Once again, Rasali feels the sting of destruction upon its land. This was the first world I ever created. I was in middle school when I made this, and i've been making changes to it recently. --------------- Planeswalking One of two modern stories, Planeswalking happens in the not too far off future (I'd say about 2014, year wise). Wizards of The Coast have recently bought multiple laboratories and software engineering companies under the guise of building a Virtual Reality simulation for Dungeons and Dragons. This couldn't be farther from the truth. The reality is that Wizards of The Coast found a way to siphon latent energies from the earth's landscapes to create a force practically identical to the Mana from their popular trading card game, Magic: The Gathering. The plan was quickly formed: The company was going to infuse the Mana into the bodies of men and women to create real-life Planeswalkers. Eight people were selected from various countries around the world, all of them under the impression that they were to help play-test the new MtG card set. Once they were collected, the Mana was infused within them. Three days passed, and the eight were gathered into a meeting room: Eight perfect creations of real-life Planeswalkers. After the CEOs gave congratulations to the group, they were told the real task: Now they were essentially guinea pigs for the company. Given code names to protect their identities (And the company in the unlikely event that one of them were to be compromised), the eight were then forced to do tasks around the world to prove the superiority of the new 'Planeswalker' creation. I think this is my favorite story; it's also the most recent. This one incorporates my knowledge of Geography to make a wonderful story. --------------- The Iron Protectors The year is 2009. The Pelaeus Industry is hired in Quartz City, Montana, to build machinery in order to help law enforcement the rising crime rate and supervillain population robbing the jewelry industry, Quartz City's number one source of income. No one expected them to take citizens from the town for their experiments. The Pelaeus Industry planned to take humans and graft machinery to them, essentially creating the ultimate man-machine hybrid. Three teenagers were kidnapped for their experiments: One boy had an entire half of his skin and muscled flayed off, all while having a chip inserted into his nervous system that could cause changes in his own anatomy. They replaced the removed skin and muscles with machine parts, turning him into a cyborg. The second boy's chest cavity was cut open and the vast majority of the organs were removed. This was so they could put the machinery in the hold the new cannon they had 'acquired' from a shady dealer in the black market. Having his body held together with mystical sigils, the boy was now a literal war machine. The girl had her eye forcibly ripped out of its socket and replaced with a new, experimental sniper scope; she was then given a rifle and told to kill people against her will, to kill her emotions. This was turn her into the ultimate assassin; to murder targets from across countries. The ultimate ending to this was to install chips into their brains to keep them under their control; They wanted to control the world with their machine soldiers. On the night the chips were installed, a freak electrical storm flared up. Despite all the dangers, work continued. That was when a lightning bolt cracked the sky open, striking the building. The chips shorted out, machines began to fail, and robots went mad, attacking the scientists. The three, capable of free will, banded together to escape the Pelaeus Facility. Out in the pouring rain, the three took shelter in a dark alleyway. They couldn't tell anyone about this; if word got out of this; Pelaeus would win in the end: They technically did create ultimate soldiers to stop crime. Instead, the three decided to do it their way: They'd fight the crime like they were built to do, but they would also take out the real criminals: The Pelaeus Industry. Together, the three became the Iron Protectors. But this isn't the end of this origin story. Below the earth, there live a race of humans who are cultic in nature: The Krykonians. Well-versed in pagan arts, the Krykonians use their blood as weapons and magic. They are the one who sold the mystical sigils to the Pelaeus Industry for use on their machine soldiers. Krykonians are taught to treat their king as a God, and their brains are developed in a way that destroys independent thought; they only follow their ruler. All of them except the one with the brain of a human. Blood Rogue had the ability to question, to wonder, which made him a massive threat to the Krykonians. He had no choice but to flee Krykonia, up to the surface world. Along his travels, he met Vakyrie, who fell from the sky and made a crater upon impact. She was the daughter of the Thunder God, Raiden. When the two reached Quartz City, a chance encounter led to them meeting Tank, Doom Agent, and Sniper (The names of the teens used in the experiments). The rest? That's history. This is a superhero story, basically. ----------------------------------- So, your opinions. Give them to me up front. |

honestly, and to tell the truth, I find the Twin Moon world to be very interesting, but beyond that, the other two, while interesting, don't strike much of a vibe with me. Maybe its just that I've collectively never cared much for Magic: The Gathering, nor superhero stories, whereas I've always enjoyed Fantasy. so, knowing my own personal bias, allow me to focus on your fantasy world. don't take this offensively, but, how are you defining 'gods'? are they creatures whos immortality is dependant upon other creatures' worship on them? If not, why did the five have to go through the worshippers first? After the two gods were killed, how did the Moonkin revive the one? After revived, why didn't the god go on a rampage and completely obliterate everyone who would be a threat? Now, I'm going to guess. I'm assuming that the gods weren't actually 'killed' by more sent to a sort of permanent limbo, a parallel... existence, akin to death, but reversable. and I'm also guessing that the rift was created as a by-product of the ressurection and that, with even the revivers now turned on the god, the god is hiding until such time comes as it regains enough power to wreak havoc again. Am I anywhere close to a proper guess? Will you eventually write these stories up so I can hear a character's existence inside this world you've made? |

A God's immortality comes from worship, yes. This is presumably why the Greek gods stopped existing - No one worships them anymore.* *Yes I am aware that they didn't really exist shoosh The six would have to go through the worshippers either way - They had the only way to the Moon Gods. As for the ressurection, The Moon Cult's leader had a book of detailed spells, including one for ressurection of a God. It involves having a part of the God who is dead (The Moonkin leader, who I named Denver, presumably took a piece of the God after his death; I know Hovris's gang didn't kill all of the Moon Cult). Sarvest and Aoumoria both work together to drape the world in darkness; he would need Aoumoria for the most powerful attacks. The Moonkin, coincedentally, have learned nothing and are trying to revive and control Aoumoria. I have paragraphs written for all the races/empires, i'll post those laterish. |

So, during the course of the story, is Aumoria going to be dead originally, and eventually the moonkin will have an attempt to revive him, too? Couldn't Sarvest revive Aumoria, though? Do other, possibly benevolent gods exist? |

Yes, around the time Twin Moon World happens, Aoumoria is dead. The Moonkin, having learned nothing, are trying to revive Aoumoria (Though not even the Ciasas know this). Sarvest can't revive his sister because he doesn't have a piece of her to use for revival (I believe this is how reviving works in D&D, at least). The Moonkin had it planned, so they would have the piece. There are good Gods, too. The most important one is Alunheid, the Goddess of Light; the Chapel of Alunheid is in Justice and part of the Hisah faction. |

ah. Do any of these gods die throughout the course of the story, somehow? Is it possible to kill a god without first eliminating it's worshippers? In relation to the standard human, how powerful are gods? Can a single god completely annihalate a human army, or will it eventually get brought down if its immortality is made useless? will the other, vanished isles(or planetoids or whatever) eventually somehow play a role in the story? |
