Urrrgh, I must admit I hated FF12.. I can't even figure out why though! Balthier was one of my favourite characters in any FF- actually, he might have been my favourite. But it annoyed me that money was so hard to come by, and the licenses and buying spells and stuff >_> I'll probably play V after VI, since some of you have recommended it, maybe replay VIII in between. So far, I think VI is okay, only played for like an hour so far though so I haven't had a chance to really check out the battle stuff. It seems really good though. |

III was okay, but it wasn't great, by any means. And even though IV was my favorite I somehow couldn't get into FFIV DS, maybe because the extent to which they changed some of the things. As far as DS games go, I'd say Advance Wars: DoR >FFIV DS > FE1 The Fire Emblem remake... I just couldn't play it. It just felt like a repainted NES game, and the NES version was a bit lackluster. FF Games: I liked the SNES ones the best, my order being IV>VI>V |

I don't know why nobody likes FFXII. I don't like it, either. It's an alright game, but it's just...not good, I guess. <__< |

lawl. Am I the only person who finds it funny that nobody knows WHY they don't like FFXII? I constantly hear about how it's okay, but nobody can seem to finish it. I guess it must just be boring or something. Anyways, as everybody else has mentioned, after you beat FFVI, go for FFIV or FFV. Granted, I've never played FFV, I'll assume it's at least almost as good as IV/VI. Then again, I never beat FFIV. Got stuck on the last dungeon. I was like, 10 levels underleveled and I'm too lazy to go back and grind. D: |

That's mostly what I've heard. They could have went the whole enhanced remake route and made it awesome like Metroid Zero Mission or Bionic Commando Rearmed, but they basically just translated it and gave it new graphics. That's it. |

Final Fantasy 12 was a mixed bag for me. On one side, the way the world was designed, graphically and aesthetically and culturally, it really sang out to me and appealed to me very deeply. The gameplay was also fun... for a while. However, it dragged on far too much. After 20 hours of gameplay, I was only Level 20, and my general power level and development hadn't really gone that far. Additionally - and this might have been because I simply sucked at the game - the Gambit system seemed useless. It was easier half the time to jjust set up gambits for auto attack and healing, then just walk into every enemy randomly rather than actually use half of what was on offer, simply because it didn't seem to do anything. In the end it felt too much like an offline MMO. The storyline and development just wasn't fast or engaging enough, so I got bored after a while. Too much work for too little gain. Maybe one day I'll pick it up again and go back, but I have other games closer to the top of the list that I'd rather pick up first. |

I reckon FFXII would've been better if they didn't make it that you basically had to level-grind for about two hours before moving on. I reckon FFXII had a great-story and battle system, just lacking in difficulty. |
