The game only follows the plotline as far as the main storyline goes. Multiplayer stuff doesn't. For example, who stopped Groudon in Ruby? The player character. As in, you. Not the other people that own the game. Thus, one Groudon. In other words, tournaments and stuff are non-canon, but everyone knew that already, right? |

Exactly. All these things are possible because it would be a pain in the ass to play the game if a) Legendaries couldn't be traded or B) There was only one game cart in the entire world that allowed you to obtain each legendary. |

I was pretty sure that in terms of legendaries, your game is canonical, and everytime you trade or communicate with another, it's non-canonical. The exception to this rule is when getting the other version's legendary unlocks something new - like with HGSS Kyogre and Groudon unlocking Rayquaza. However, I see no problem with Arceus being able to create new Dialga/Palkia/Giratina, since it created them before. I could even see there being a 1,000 Arceus - each as one of the Original One's 1,000 arms. I don't believe for one second, however, that the anime is correct in that there is more than one Lugia, or that Lugia breed (while they support only one Ho-oh). Lugia and Ho-oh, for the most part, are single individuals, guardian Kami of specific places. They may have others in existence, but they certainly don't breed and make baby Lugia. This is as broken-conceptualised as the baby Nidoking and Nidoqueen in Mewtwo Returns. I'm REALLY, REALLY happy about the Sakaki-Celebi event. The one downside to it is that I think he should have been at least 5 levels higher. And had Dosaidon (because Dosaidon rocks). |

Interesting input about the relevance of individual games and versions to legendaries, fellas. My ponderings on these simultaneous conundrums is gonna keep me up all night! D= Does anyone have an easy-to-read resource on what moveset changes/additions there are in HG/SS? It appears from Serebii's attackdex that Flareon and Entei don't get Flare Blitz. D= D= |

It's to my understanding that all forms of Pokemon media are canon. Which means that undoubtably there can be more than one legendary of a cartain species. Lugia can have a whole nest of baby Lugias. The only problem that stems from this though is Mewtwo. A Pokemon with one origin. He was cloned. Only him. Only one. So the first part of my post now makes no sense. See the problem here? I honestly don't think anybody thought it through when they were first making the games. So I think what counts as official canon is all up to the player. If your playing HeartGold and you want to believe that their is only one Ho-oh in the entire Pokemon universe and you just caught him. Then I say, "Whatever makes you happy." I think what we all need to remember is that they are just games. The minute you try to nail everything down to one story, your going to stop enjoying yourself. As for me? I don't use legendary Pokemon. I catch them, store them, and never touch them again. |

That's a pretty darn nicely led-to and drawn conclusion, I am inclined to agree. =D Anyway, Serebii posted the move tutor list for HG/SS, thankfully. Apparently, they are found in one house related to the Battle Frontier, and instead of shards you pay BP from the Battle Frontier for them. Also, they apparently include all the move tutor moves from Platinum, as well as some new ones. Here's what is new tutorwise: Bug Bite Block Gravity Heal Bell Low Kick Magic Coat Pain Split Role Play Sky Attack String Shot Super Fang Tailwind Worry Seed There's also that guy in Ilex Forest that will teach any amount of your Pokemon Headbutt for free. |

The great news? Mewtwo is in HG/SS without trading! They brought back alot of places not in the original G/S because now there is not much of a memory restraint. Which means Cureleon Cave is a whole dungeon and not just a place to find a worthless item. |

Okay, so I've been pretty obsessed with the new music, but I never shared the best piece of news of all concerning it. You know the awesome Legendary Beast theme from Crystal? In this game, each beast GETS ITS OWN REMIX OF THE SONG! Here we go: Raikou's Theme: A rockier version of the song. Entei's Theme: A more subdued version. Suicune's Theme: Featuring epic hi-hat action. My favorite of the three. And just for the sake of completion, here's the unused version found in Ruby and Sapphire. Strangely enough, they didn't use it in FireRed and LeafGreen, where you actually could catch the beasts. |

Man, I really gotta say, I'm very disappointed in the music. All of it sounds like Wii music - bouncy, sometimes jazzy, and bland. Very little variation in instrumentation. A lot of the tunes seem positively butchered. Especially Dragon's Den. Dragon's Den was raped, pillaged, plundered, and left bleeding on the sidewalk. |

Ironically, for me Dragon's Den was the only music out of the original G/S that felt positively like ear-raping noise way back in 2000. Its modern-day version here is a complete contrast that I can thoroughly appreciate this time... |

There's an item you can get late in the game that changes all the music to the originals. It's probably why they tried to take a different angle on most of the remixed themes. |
