*looks at it* Let's see, a game that we've never seen anything of besides an irrelevant teaser in eleven years of production, made by a company that hasn't made any other games in all that time and who recently went under as a result, thus making sure that Duke Nukem is Gone Forever? What about it? This is Nintendo we're talking about. They've decided and confirmed that they are going to remake Gold and Silver Pokemon versions for the DS. They are going to release it this year. We have no reason to doubt this until the release date comes by and it isn't out or the date hasn't been modified. Why are you guys so despondent and wary? Lighten up a little. |

HOLY SHIT! I barely got to the Battle Frontier on Platinum and you are already offering me another awesome game? Go easy on me bastards! I will wait until I completely beat Platinum to get it, or if i am lucky I will have beaten Platinum by the time this remake is released. Finally some anti fail news. |

Hold it, take it easy there: This game is only something that was just confirmed by Game Freak to be in development. It's most likely going to be an entire year and a half before its North American version'll be in our hands, since the plan appears to be to release it on the 10-year anniversaries of the releases of the original Gold and Silver games within Japan and America respectively (and since it was in November 2000 for us back then, it'll probably be at November 2010 for us now). So really, we got PLENTY of time with our still-newish Platinum versions.

I'm fairly certain America will get it a little earlier at least then November 2010. I'm not sure if they WILL for instance reuse text from Gold and Silver, but I suspect it, not to mention they already have the areas and such done. It's just new stuff and graphical updates they have to be concerned with, which I suspect will take less then a year and a half to do. And if they do go for the ten year release date, they'd be a little mad IMO...but who knows. |

Well, actually, now that I look at it, the Japanese release date of Gold and Silver was almost a whole year before the English release date, at November 1999. Which means we'll most likely be hearing all about the imports of HeartGold and SoulSilver in exactly 6 months, which is the Japanese 10-year anniversary in November 2009. And right, it's possible the officials won't wait a whole year following that to release the localized versions for us English-speakers... EDIT: BTW, shouldn't an admin change the topic title to "Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver versions"? >_> |

*sobs* WHY? Why do Nintendo have to stagger their release dates so much? I'm going to have to wait 2 years or something to get this... |

@Reid: Thanks a lot, but sorry; Long ago I had to change around the internet connection settings involved with my router and all that technical stuff, and the one setup that properly gives my household internet access is one which is on a security or encryption or some other sort of setting that is incompatible with the DS' ability to connect to Wi-Fi. (The Wii's connection to Wi-Fi works, though.) Hence, I've not been on DS wi-fi for an entire year now, and I probably won't be getting back on it because that would be a REAL hassle of complex trial-and-error-tinkering that would possibly screw up the working Internet connection I do have... >_> @Screenshot: Ooooooooooooh. It would appear the whole 3D game world of HG/SS' Johto and Kanto has already been designed!

You know, you're right; it'd really be incredible if there were a feature where any one of the ~500 Pokemon has overworld sprites that allows them to follow you around. I look forward to Mow Rotom myself; the idea of a possessed lawnmower following you around everywhere you go throughout Johto brings on teh lulz. ^_^ |

Your pokemon get to follow you around? Even if that is at only certain points, I love that idea. If I didn't have trouble finding my GBA, I'd be playing Yellow right now. Plus New Bark Town looks AMAZING. I love Gold's new design as well. Plus if you've seen the gameplay during Pokemon Sunday there was an awesome wind effect as well. Though, when you think about it, it's even better... "New Bark Town: The Town Where the Winds of a New Beginning Blow" ^_^ |

Yeah well, I always thought it was ridiculous how vehemently you were against creature designs belonging to a game you never even played in the first place. >_> I mean, in my philosophy, in the case of any game (not just Pokemon) one's gotta play the damn game first before passing any judgements, because at least then one's opinions will always be more well-founded. |
