Well, I probably see your rationale already, because I entirely understand how each generation can have their own strengths and weaknesses in the eyes of different types of fans. ![]() Anyway, for the record, my versions each generation were Blue, Silver, Ruby, FireRed, and Pearl, and the third versions I got were Yellow and Platinum because they had the biggest improvements relative to the base games of their respective generations. I plan to get SoulSilver coming up. |

To answer your question Moose, Pokethlon is indeed a replacement of sorts for the Pokemon Contest. It seems to be better because they're actual minigames. You can read more here. As for what this does to Feebas, we don't know yet. You'll probably just have to evolve him in R/S/E/D/P/Pt and trade him over if you want a Milotic. |

If you get HeartGold, you can still get Lugia - just later in the game. I plan to get HeartGold - I originally got Gold, and it's kinda grown on me - more than Crystal did even though I found myself doing better on it. On-topic of Feebas: I actually can't seem to find where it says they'll remove the contest stats. And who knows - perhaps Milotic will be a catchable Pokemon. |

Actually, Erik, I haven't gotten into the nitpicky details about why I really prefer gen 2 above all others - beleive me, there is a pretty tangible chain of logic behind it. Maybe after I'm done camping this week I'll do it. Also, I bought Red, Silver, and Sapphire first in each respective generation. (and Yellow, Crystal and Emerald later on, but meh) |

Delfeir has owned/purchased the following from each generation: Red, Yellow, Gold, Crystal, Sapphire, Emerald, Pearl, Platinum. I only managed to emulate FR/LG rather than buy, much to my extreme disappointment as I want to replay them on the actual DS. Rawr. Additionally, despite the limits in that list I ended up playing the alternate versions every time by borrowing cartridges or through emulation. That said! Thanks to the power of emulationn and the fact that she's Asian and can speak some Japanese, my girlfriend is now playing through Soul Silver on her R4. She goads me ceaselessly with it, but she's shipping me her spare R4 with it attached so I won't have to worry about it soon enough. She's the best. *coughs* But I still plan to buy Heart Gold when it comes out in English, though. Nonetheless, she hasn't gotten too far due to being busy but she did tell me that the ability to make any Pokemon follow you is freaking awesome and she was squealing about how cute her Cyndaquil was. So yeah. Will get more details from her when I speak to her after class. Also Crash, sorry, but you may have noticed that I haven't been on the Temple much lately. I'll post in the RP when I get home. |

I've always liked the 'cooler' games too, (and I'm using Moose's meaning). But mainly I picked Blue for Vulpix, my then favourite pokemon XD Blue, Silver, Gold (Liked silver more), Sapphire, Ruby (Liked Sapphire more, Silver/blue bias), Fire-red (No blue T_T), Pearl (Blue! 8D), and as I stated I shall be selling Pearl and getting store credit for Platinum, my first time getting the odd-one-out. <.< |

It's Blue/Silver/Sapphire/LeafGreen/Diamond for me. My brother would get the opposite versions of each one, too. |

Great News! Remember in FR/LG when you had to get the Ruby and Saphire in order to tade with R/S/E? Well that's not going to be a problem in HG/SS. Turns out that as soon as your able to do a standard trade your able to trade with D/P/Pt. Which means I can trade all my Pokemon from HG/SS to D/P/Pt in order to get them to know moves they would otherwise have to wait for. Basically, I'll have a Totodile that knows Surf and Waterfall at level 5. This also means that if you want to trade over a weak Pokemon to D/P/Pt and slap an experience share on them you can start HG/SS pretty easy. I won't do that myself, but I will be using the move tutor alot. Hello Typhlosion who knows Thunderpunch! |

I remember that! I also remember back when me and my friends thought that Scyther evolved at around level 40. Let's just say one of my friends wasn't happy with his level 50 Scyther. And the games I got?: Blue, Yellow, Gold, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen Diamond. I then got Platinum through my now-dead R4, and my brother had Pearl. Also: does anyone remember or know why Blue was released instead of Green? |

Wait, I thought Green was released earlier than Red/Blue. And it was Japan exclusive. |

Are you serious? Green's graphic were a complete failure (according to them). To me it is pretty much the same as Blue, I saw no difference, at all. Also, Pokemon games that I've had? Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Trading card 1 and TC 2 (rom). Mistery Dungeon Red Rescue Team, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Firered, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Mistery Dungeon Time (Still not playing it) and HeartGold (jap) (rom) Snap, Stadium 1, Stadium 2, Puzzle League. Note that even though I've had most pokemon games, right now I do not own a DS since I left it on DR, along with the R4 >_> Right now I only have Firered, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald with me. And if you count the rom of HG >_> Man, it sucks, I should get a DS soon. |

Okay, here's the scoop on the Blue vs. Green situation. When the game came out in Japan, there was only Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green. Like Reid said, the sprites for the Pokemon themselves were absolutely horrid. (Look here to see for yourself, scroll down to see the colored versions) The Blue version that came out in every other region is pretty much the same as Japan's Green version, except for the graphical changes and a few other small details that also changed in the NA/PAL releases of Red. After that, a Blue version came out in Japan. It had the improved graphics of the other regions' releases, as well as the other changes (such as the reworked Unknown Dungeon). This version of the game had different locations for some Pokemon. Then Yellow came out, and we pretty much all know the differences there. As for the Pokemon games I've owned? I don't have much. I got a Pokemon Blue cartridge about 5 years after it came out, but the battery's dead on that, and then I have FireRed and Diamond. My brother has LeafGreen. |

On another note, do you think they will bother with remaking Crystal as well? Well, considering they didn't gave us a "Yellow Thunder" (Which I personally wanted) it is highly unlikely, but I wouldn't mind. |
