Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

And there you have it! Hard proof that I can LEFT -and- LIBERTARIAN. Or, at the very at least, know how to answer it. xP

... I say that because some of the questions posed in the quiz were pretty vague. I tried answering the questions as sincerely as I could, but for example, near the beginning, there was a question along the lines of "because no one chooses his/her country of birth, it's foolish to be proud of it."
I was like "wait, what?" *blinks, re-reads* ... I answered "disagree," which potentially threw off my chance to land on the left-libertarian margin. :axecrazy:
... Or at least, that's what I think, given that nationalist sentiment is typically a right-authoritarian thing. Value-wise, I'm as internationalist as they come, but don't think that should preclude me from being "proud" of my country of birth... IN CALIFORNIA! =D (Either way, I probably answered wrong.)

I took the test again, and noticed I didn't really shift at all. Then I realized I took it only about six months ago. Go figure.

I'm somewhere roughly sitting ON the X-axis, but way off in the negative space in regards to the Y-axis.

An excellent, remarkably easy-to-follow video detailing what it means to be left-libertarian:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmf7ksraGSY (Part 1 - five minutes)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZU7hSV1UsaM (Part 2 - six minutes)

Given that most of us landed in its quadrant, I'm curious to know how many of you identify with it... at least on some level.
(It's not the best analysis, but I like how it gets out a lot in a short amount of time. Very educational in that respect.)

My world/political views have remained constant for most of life, but watching this several years ago helped me self-identify as "left-libertarian."
The term is not as popular - particularly because "libertarianism" has come to be associated with the opposite meaning (I explained this in one of my environmental topics) -, but the way I see it, most progressive social movements are "left-libertarian" in nature. They may use different terms, but this video helps to explain why corporations - monolithic corporate power - is, among other things, the focus of left-progressive causes.

I don't have an ideology, got a range of views on different topics and don't fit in anywhere. That's probably true for a lot of people but everyone likes picking a team :eyebrow:

Even the 2D spectrum seems rubbish, so many viewpoints aren't divided along left/right or authoritarian/liberal. If you actually narrow those down to specifics (such as economics) you find that a whole load of stuff that people associate with them gets left out, alternatively they're so broad they can mean totally different things.
