My political views are pretty common back home (even among people my own age), so this is a surprise to me. |

Goddamn, I have drifted since 2009. ![]() Though I should note that I make a distinction that this test does not pick up. I'm still very authoritarian when it comes to criminal justice, particularly white-collar crime, but more libertarian when it comes to civil liberties. |

White-collar crime would probably shift you to the left, anyway. xD And good, goooood madnarel, you're hovering around best area (left-wing, slightly libertarian) (note this is real left-wing not american "left-wing") |

This is mine, but I don't pay nearly as much attention to politics as I ought to (´・ω・)つ So I'm not sure how accurate that is. I'd have guessed I was more to the left. I'm curious as to what's shifted your views, Adna, though you did describe it as "drifting" so I guess it's not very clear-cut? |

If Julia Gillard is that authoritarian/right-wing, Tony Abbott must be off the scale. |

Well, when you consider that the "red" quadrant is where communism belongs (Stalinism / Soviet Communism, mind you) and when you consider that the color "blue" is associated with right-leaning, conservative parties around the world (America's an outlier... eeexxxept that the Democrats are also right-wing <_< >_>) I don't think it's coincidence that the quadrant on the bottom left is colored "green." Green politics are left-libertarian in nature. Moreover, the environmental movement is one of many progressive social movements that demand similar things. There's a significant overlap in issues over equity and the larger idea of a shared commons, for instance. Terms like "sustainability" extend into the social/economic sphere. Think about it. Greens (though I'm biased here) are symbolic of the libertarian left. |
