Where do you sit on the political spectrum (for your nation)? I say for your nation because let's face it here - Stephen Harper, right winger that he is in Canadian politcs...is still more left wing than Obama. I'd say I've been strongly liberalized by my parents, which indeed shows in this test result here. (Find the original test here. I'm not sure what to make of that test since I'm probably using different popular definitions, but if it says I'm a social libertarian (i.e. the state shall not infringe on people's rights) but economically left wing (i.e. the state shall totally infringe on big business). As an aside, It seems that prevailing orthodoxy is to move towards a free market platform for all parties everywhere atm. Some say that goes a ways to explaining low voter turnout. If the liberals and the conservatives and everyone in between are all advocating more or less the same economics, there's no point in voting. |

![]() As an unrelated note to this topic, I learned that Obama is the first White House smoker since Dwight Eisenhower. Also, the result of this graph is skewed for me because I always voted the pro-music/arts options, which, for whatever reason, is considered 'left' by this test. |

So I got this. I consider myself a bit more conservative than that though. My social views are more liberal, but my personal views are near-perfectly in the middle. |

I took one of these tests in school, but I forget what I got, and I'm too lazy to do it again. It had a result that was left-to-right, then one with four quadrants. I was Liberal(left or right, I am blanking on this for some reason. Seriously, this is odd), but I was real close to the middle. |

Yay! First one to post in this quadrant! Basically, I'm not a huge fan of the State by any means, either economic or authoritarian, so, that's why I sit where I do. |

Their website has intriguing points about modern conservatives. The US is actually more economically left wing than it lets on because of how HUGE military earmarks are and therefore how many peeps they employ. B) |
