Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

I've been itching to play an RPG intensely all week, and now I'm thinking that revisiting FE might be the choice for me.

However, I'm also in the middle of a Hector Mode game around Chapter 28-ish, the level in the snow where you can get Karel if you kill enough promoted units. Last I played, it was pretty damn frustrating because a random Bishop could just down someone from ten panels away. So my question is, do I feel like attempting to finish this (my first Hector run ever) or leave it for later and restart on a separate file?

I always got the version of that map where you had to unlock doors. Sooooo much easier, from what I've heard.

I've gotten that one too in an earlier run, and I'm of mixed opinion. Actually, trying to remember, that might be the one I have now, I'm not entirely sure >.>

That chapter has different versions depending upon the level of your magic units compared to your physical ones. If your magic units levels add up to more than what the physical units add up to, then you fight Kenneth and have to beat 3 promoted units in order to get Karel. It's the other way around (Physical units' level > Magic units') to fight Jerme and unlock four doors to get Karel.

Personally, I would rather get Harken and his Brave Sword but it's your choice.

Eh, it's not like you're ever going to use either of them. Pre-premotes suck =P

See, I got yelled at for saying that at an FE forum once. =P

I use some pre-promotes. Usually Pent, Karel, Geitz, and/or Jafar. But I do try to avoid them, if only because I tend to like the unpromoted characters better anyway.

I prefer to use them in Hard Mode. They have much more value at that time.

Lol, I was just trying to be pugnacious =P

I can understand why you'd want to use Pent, Karel, Jaffar, Geitz, or even Louise. It's just characters like Marcus that turned me off using prepromotes. But, like Squee said, I like the other units better anyway, and the satisfaction of training a character all the way to lvl 20 is really nice. Promotion items are so fun to use =P

Marcus is a god in Hector Hard Mode. Well, utility wise, at least. ;D

I suppose that would be why the members of said FE forum always insisted that he was one of the best characters. I nominated Priscilla for a "best non-lord character" poll, and the guy who nominated Marcus said he would lose faith in humanity if Priscilla won. XD

Opinion Poll!!

New file, or continue an old one where I'm not entirely sure I left off?

Legault, Matthew, and Jaffar? How'd you go about getting the promotion items, secret shops? (Assuming there is one that early?) And how on earth did you get the cash? Arena?

Sophia drops one of the promotion items, and the other is about 50k in the final secret shop in Chapter 31 in Hector's mode.

I never use the arena.

Then again, I'm only using the lords, the three thieves/sins, Guy, Oswin, Serra,

Sophia is the girl that gives you the talisman in Victory or Death. She's also playable as a Shaman in FE 6.

Although she is so very slow and comes rather late at a low level. There's nothing Nino-esque about her, but her growths aren't exactly terrible (just SO FREAKING SLOW).

I'm playing FE6 right now, and I'm on chapter 12.

This is my opinion about most of the early game ones, Geitz, and Jaffar are really the only ones I ever use.

Geitz, Pent, Louise, Harken(to an extent), and Jaffar are the battle-useful pre-promotes. Marcus is probably the best utility wise.
