It's been exactly one decade since the original Pokemon Red/Blue release in North America. God, I feel old.

I'd rather be outside.

I noted this too earlier this year.

It did indeed make me feel very old.

I've not quite been playing it for a decade; some of my friends got it first, and then I got it for Christmas, with a Gameboy. So... come December 25th I'll feel old, too. >_>

'Course I already do on account of my age and all. But yeah... I still play Red. I'm playing Gold right now, but I'm sure I'll go back to Red... I get weird looks from people.

Actually Enro, I was playing it that year too. So hey, I've been a whore to the Pokemon series for a decade as well.

Still don't feel old, though. And if I do, I don't care. ^^

I got it when I was five. For about a year I had no idea what to do after you go into the grass and I kept trying to walk out of the lab.

But meh, I don't feel old. And on the bus a friend of mine brought his game boy and was playing yellow, and for that day everyone was talking about pokemon. Good times.

At my school, it was expected that everyone who had the game would bring their Gameboy and Cartridge to school, along with a link cable, so we could all trade and battle and such.

Although many kids weren't affluent enough to afford the game system and game, and so Pokémon cards were also mandatory, for battling and trading.

Good times. Where I lived in Texas, that guy's dream of making a fun game to bring kids together worked like a charm; the entire school became one huge, friendly organization. Then I moved to Illinois. O_o Not so friendly there, for various reasons.

ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS

This topic is good.

I still have my original file from pokemon yellow. My Raichu is 10 years old! I got it as a bribe to make me go on a skiing trip.

EDIT: the game itself, not the raichu. But that would be a good bribe.

Raichu was my favorite Pokemon for a long time. It's still up there on my list of faves, too.

I remember getting Red version. My mom took me to Wal-Mart, I got the choice, and I thought Charizasrd was cooler than Blastoise.

Man, was I right!

I actually posted in the C-box on the exact date of it as well. XD Everyone had Pokemon Red and Blue in my primary school. I used to have Yellow. ^_^

BUTTERFREE, JYNX AND POLLIWAG FTW!

And no, I don't feel old. ^_~ My starter was always Squirtle.

I never actually owned a Pokemon game.

... No, seriously.

I find that surprising, Squee, but some people never got it. Or got into it.

My favorite Pokémon from Generation I was always Zapdos, but methinks that's different these days... not that I know for sure right now.

I miss my Yellow. And I still think Silver and Gold have been the best generation so far.

Yeah, I remember having the game when I was 8, so a decade sounds right. Man, I remember not knowing how to even get out of my house. I was literally stuck inside my house for the first hour or so of gameplay >_>

I remember I always used to choose the grass starter, until the lameness of Treecko. I then switched to Fire starters, and have since played through with both Charmander and Cyndaquil =D Bulbasaur is still one of my favourites, though.

I always chose the grass starter, too. Blue version was my first game, then I got yellow, and when Gold and Silver came out, I bought them both on the release day. Then I didn't get any Pokemon games until Pearl. Ah, man, I used to love the cards. I still have mine, too, in a big binder at home. Man, I miss the good ol' days when Pokemon was something everyone was into and you could geek out about it on the playground during recess...

Pokemon got banned at my school because it was played by everyone, all the time. Except for everyone in my grade. Who abused the crap out of me for liking something so stupid for so long. They also abused the hell out of my weight, but let's not go into that.

Point remains, I remember buying Red and loving it to pieces. Got Yellow for my birthday later that year, and had a blast too. Afterwards I didn't actually buy another Pokemon until I got Pearl, since that was about the point where I got into emulation. But I did borrow Gold from a person who didn't play it much after a while, so I had that for the better part of two years. Never really got as much trading and battling with friends as I would have liked, mainly because I had none Pokemon died out pretty quick over here, but oh well.

Still playing it to this day. God bless Nintendo for giving us this joy. Funny how quickly and powerfully it spread, huh?

Ha, same thing happened to me.

I've still got my massive card collection at home. Just for nostalgia, I remember recently making a grass/electric deck with only Pokemon from the original 150.
