Okay, so a rant by Ian McConville of Mac Hall/Three Panel Soul fame directed me to this little game called S4 League. I think it can only be described as a third-person shooter with a hint of Matrix-esque moves and abilities, and cutesy Phantasy Star style graphics. In short, it's a fast paced and twitch happy game that is absolutely gorgeous. It's in open beta now - not sure what options will be withheld and how long this'll go on for, but I'm having an absolute blast with it. I only wish I didn't lag so much, but I think that's my fault as opposed to the game. You can find info and stuff about the game right here. If somebody wants to join me, I'd love the company! |

So it's kinda like GunZ:The Duel, only not full of glitchers and hackers? I may have to look into that. |

The similarities to GunZ were remarkably noticable when I first started. So far no hackers or anything, and I haven't found any major glitches thus far. It's a lot of fun. That said, I've started to experience some serious lag. My first game was pretty good, although there were noticable gaps... but every game afterwards has been an exercise in frustration, as I've been shooting guys that moved from that spot about 10 seconds ago. That's merely my connection, though... I don't believe it's part of the game itself. Have to figure out how to bypass that... I really want to play this game. |

I was literally RIGHT about to make a topic about this. This is definitely one of my favorite MMOS. Problem is, lag makes you invincible. And in some very severe cases of lag, a lagger can negate a Touch Down (Touch Down is S4's CTF, except you drive the ball into a post in your opponent's area). |

As awesome as this game would have played, unfortunately, my internet connection has some kind of issue that means I'm constantly lagging up a storm. I don't get why... it's great internet and gets good speeds, yet this just refuses to play at a decent rate. Meaning I can't kill anyone, and they can't kill me. So I pretty much gave up on it until I can get the lag sorted. |
