I thought Jynx was more lame than Mr. Mime, though. And the female Wobbaffet, all they did was put lipstick on it. |

Jynx is one of my favorite Pokemon. I always used her for the E4 in Blue. I'd say I agree with the whole list as well. |

Ordinarily I wouldn't like "lame Pokemon" topics like this, but 1up's list I found interesting because they chose different Pokemon from each of the four generations, which along with the statement "it's a minor miracle that Nintendo's still able to come up with so many interesting designs" proves that it'd be overly subjective to call any one generation worse than the other. =) The list itself is still subjective enough that I disagree with its picks, however; I think all of us genuinely like Mr. Mime, and I happen to like Beautifly more than Butterfree and think Probopass is an awesome design. >______< Even Luvdisc I kinda like for being an intentional dud (thus filling a little "ocean swarmer" niche of its own); if EVERY LAST POKEMON were some "well-rounded" design like Pikachu and Togepi and Charizard, the lack of a couple duds or "gimmicks" might make Pokemon's world feel a little less believable. |

Glalie so should've been on this list instead of Mr. Mime. I absolutely hate him. |

Yeah, I remember you saying that before. What is it about him that you like? You play hockey or something? Now Grumpig, he's one that I can enjoy (though I like Spoink more). |

Lulz, I hate hockey and sports in general. ^_^ Now, Glalie, like all the other species, I generally came to like by looking at loads of Pokemon card art on PokeBeach and at their animated 3D models in console Pokemon games. Each of these media is much better for showcasing Pokemon designs than the simplistic game sprites and Sugimori art. And in the cards, I like how Glalie can look genuinely menacing and almost demonic, especially its shiny form which has red eyes, which pretty much makes it one of Pokemon's most "hardcore" designs. I like the way its patterned ice coat is arranged on the rock underneath too, as well as the fact that underneath the coat it's actually a spherical black rock with horns. It's got a more demonic feel than Houndoom can ever have IMO. XDXD |

I guess I've never analyzed him to that degree because I pretty quickly dismissed him, especially since he's not very good in the games. Is there any Pokemon that you don't like? |

Lulz, yeah, for the past several years I spent inordinate amounts of time looking into how exactly the creators designed each creature and how each creature compares to the others. Probably why nowadays not one of the Pokemon actually strikes me as truly lame... But there are some Pokes I find blander than others. Examples of Pokemon I find bland are Spinda, Luvdisc (remember I only said I *liked* him not *loved* him >_>), Staryu, Machop, Geodude, Unown, Zubat, Ditto... Frankly, I'm sure that if Staryu and Starmie were introduced in the third or fourth generations they would've been reviled by fans as bland "objects" or something. |

I always thought the Unowns were kinda nifty, if rather useless. And for the record, I really liked Ditto and Pineco. |

First, Staryu is probably my least favorite of all first gen pokes (a large part of that hatred comes from their ability in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but whatever). Second, I like Ditto and Pineco, but I hate Forretress. |

What about Smeargle? ಠ_ಠ What does it do other than possibly copy rare moves? (I wouldn't know. Never tried using it) |

Ah, Smeargle was another one I loved. Mostly because of the concept, though. I agree that the copy Pokemon were generally sub-par choices in battle. |

The Unown look kind of cool I suppose, but they take the "Gotta Catch 'em All" concept way too far. I'll agree that Beatuifly is a blatant copy of Butterfree, just as Dustox is of Venemoth. But actually, Nintendo hasn't produced that many "copy" Pokemon. And with almost 498 different ones, that's quite impressive, though not always a good thing. Which brings me to Probopass, to which I have only this to say: What. The. [radio edit]ing. Hell. I was never a fan of Nosepass, but Probopass just hurts to look at. The description was perfect, IMO. As for Mr. mime and Luvdisc; meh. I don't like them, and I don't hate them. Smeargle though, I've always hated. Mainly its head. I mean...come on. Glalie always looks like a discolored sponge to me. -_-

YOU GET NOTHING. YOU LOSE. GOOD DAY, SIR! Sorry. Sure, Bidoof isn't a great Pokemon by any rights, but it's just too stupid looking not to love. Or at least, that's how I find it. Anyway. I feel the list is mostly accurate, but I don't mind Beautifly, Unown, or Mime. Luvdisc is pretty bland but I'll still accept it. Nosepass and Probopass, however, are the ONLY Pokemon I can think of off the top of my head that I completely hate. I mean... what the bloody hell were they thinking? To this day, that Pokemon is the reason no less than three of my otherwise Pokemon loving friends gave up on the new generation. Ugh. |
