Ok I am not marking spoilers in this topic. It is for the first game. I will be making a separate topic for the second game. The World: No humans appear in this world. Yet the Pokemon living there know they exist. So how do they know? This world is a world before heaven, where Pokemon who had been abused by their humans are given a second chance in life to live as a wild Pokemon. But they still retained some of their tameness as they adapted a few things from their humans of the past life such as building a civilization. It is not advanced but they really don't need the advanced technology as humans do. Some Pokemon still don't want to be civilized and want to live as their ancestors once did in their previous life. So they run wild, form herds if they are the type, kill for food if they are carnivores, etc. Civilized carnivores will, however run to the wild and catch the prey from herbivores running free, no matter how humane they are and how intelligent the prey is. They risk dying themselves due to malnutrition so they must hunt as well. Sometimes a friendship is made between predator and prey. The predator will not eat its friend and will not catch prey from the same species. Pokemon given a second chance at life are usually from those who are stubborn to die because they never enjoyed life. Their common complaint is that humans destroyed their lives. They are granted from the game's version of heaven another chance in a world without humans. They are given new bodies but still are the same species they were from the previous life to not have a maimed body they received due to cruelty. However centuries past. Many Pokemon now are actually the descendants of the original Pokemon there. Human and Pokemon relationships have been greatly improved recently in the previous world and less have been wanting a second chance. Few now come to this world but it thrives due to the newer generations. Not much have changed to the second world. Next time. The meteor, the human, Gengar, Gardevior and Ninetails. |

Did you come up with the part about it being a world for abused pokemon to get second chances, or did I forget since I haven't played the story in forever? |

Question. The presence of Eggs (at least in the second game, don't remember if they were in the first) would signify that the Pokemon are breeding as well. Does that mean that this world of Pokemon Purgatory can get its own flourishing population simply through itself, through Pokemon mating? Or is this simply the method of entry of most of the Pokemon from the first world? |

I made it up. It never explained in game about how the world came to be or how they know humans exist but no human appears in the game. Like the Lion King world in KH2, the main character has to become a Pokemon to interact with the inhabitants. Most of this will be made up stuff. I consider the sequel to be a separate world too so there will be a "background" for the sequel as well.
No eggs in the first game but they do breed in this world. Less Pokemon of the newer generations are coming to the second world because of better human/Pokemon interactions recently of the first world. Also the Pokemon, like the partner you meet, don't seem to be upset that the main character may have been a human before. It's only afterward when they believe the natural disasters and other misfortunes happen because of the main character do they have the old fear of humans being a curse of centuries ago. I'm glad this topic is getting replies. Gonna work on the main character next. |
