A quick fore note: BDC members might recognize my repeated attempts at getting a good Lunia fanbase started. Since most BDCers are GrindStory players, my attempts failed. And so I decided that with my return to Kraden's glorious temple, I'd give it a try here too. First and foremost, Lunia is easily the best MMO I've played. It's awesome. And I don't mean "Hey! This is really fun!" awesome, but "OMIGOD I'M COMBUSTING INTO FLAMES FROM AWESOMENESS" awesome. ![]() Lunia is a keyboard controlled MMO, but it is much more fast paced than others. You move using the arrow keys, and fight with the A, S, and Space buttons (not including skills, which are 1-0). By using different combinations of pressing A and S and different skills, you pull off combos, which are used to juggle monsters and PvP opponents. Another thing that makes Lunia stand out is the system itself. Instead of an explorable world, you have ONE hub town, called the Square. From the Square, you can enter "Stages", or the levels in Lunia. This MMO also has a storyline comprised of Episodes, which are groups of 10 Stages. There are 3 Episodes in a piece of Lunia's storyline, which I call Arcs. Though it isn't very interesting at first, Lunia's story gets good from the beginning of Episode 4 on. Here are all of Lunia's characters, each with a different class assigned to them: Sieg Helmont, The Knight: This guy is a melee fighter. Though his damage is good, parties use him for his agro skills, like Provoke, which help the party lure around enemies to kill and/or trap them. Dainn Crowley, The Wizard: Dainn is your mage. Again, he snipes like your regular magic man, but he is more famous for his Ice Wall spell, which is another agro skill. Eir Peltrow, the Healer: ............ Do I really need to explain this? Eir is the cleric of the party, she heals and has holy magic for fighting. Tia, the Thief: OMGOMGOMG NINJA GURL! Easily one of the most popular characters, Tia is a melee fighter too. However, she is meant to be a damage dealer. Lime, the Slime: Lime's nickname describes him well. What is his nickname you ask? THE GOD OF DESTRUCTION. Lime is a risk-reward character. He is quite fragile, requiring constant attention from healers, but when he hits something in a Transformed state, IT [radio edit]ING HURTS. However, when Lime uses a Transform skill, he has a fatal weakness. When a character in Lunia loses all of his or her HP, they don't die flat out. They have to be knocked down. If Lime is in a Transformed state, that is not the case. He dies automatically at 0 HP. Dacy, The Puppeteer: Dacy is unlike every other character in Lunia. She uses Sewing skills and summons her doll to help her fight. Krieg, The Paladin: Krieg is a dual-hammer wielding Tank, which as I forgot to mention, is one of Sieg's abilities. What sets him apart is that he has slight healing capabilities. Yuki, the Ice Diva: Yuki is Lunia's newest character. Her skills are, as her name will lead you to believe, all Ice Based. She is the damage version of Dainn. Don't sign up for Lunia Global. Don't even go on the site. Take my word for it. There is news that the site was infected with viruses. Just don't go on it. However, you SHOULD join Japanese Lunia. Here is a guide on how to do it: http://www.mylunia.net/forum/showthread.php?t=32603 You can find all the guides/builds you need on this site. If you decide to join JLunia, then DO NOT talk in English in public. You will get IP Banned. Look for people in the guild "Hidden", and whisper them (you whisper by typing /w[Person's name here, I don't remember if you need a space between the /w and the person's name or not. Do it in a Stage where you are by yourself to prevent people from noticing you if you mess up] [Message here]). They'll invite you to Hidden most likely. And you're in! Here are some videos showing off what Lunia basically is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fP8DB25chLU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8SaUwc8Ses My fingers hurt now. >_> |

Hate to say it Rep... but not many Temple goers play MMOs... I've already tried. And I do like Lunia... I just like Mabinogi more. |

Isn't "combusting into flames" a bit repetitive? O_o |

I tried that last year. It's nice and all, but it lacks an enticing storyline. |

Again, it gets interesting (or at least much more bearable) in Episode 4, which wasn't in OB. OB is what you had to have participated in if you played last year. Besides, most people play this game for the sheer awesomeness it brings, and lack of grinding. |

Hmm, lack of grinding does sound appealing.... I'm not really an MMO person myself, though. Nexus War is all I play. |

Yesiree, instead of grinding, Lunia has what we players call "Genocide Quests", or "Genos" for short. You basically kill the heck out of designated monsters, and when you reach a certain number, you can turn the quests in for MASSIVE EXP. Since it can take a while if you do it by yourself, and since most Hidden members are past Level 25, I'll make a Lime to accompany any new players. |

In a way, that's still grinding. However, it's a better kind of grinding, because it means you have a little more purpose and direction. If the developers are *good*, it means you can even have storyline to the quest, so it provides more drive to actually kill these things. World of Warcraft has it, though those are still far from perfect. At least it varies it with other kinds of quests. |

Once you actually get to playing, you see that it is quite easy to build up as long as you have people doing it with you. So, is anyone actually thinking of signing up for JLunia, or is this topic just gonna be filled with discussion and whatnot? XD |

*ponders* I'll consider giving it a shot, Reptile. That said, I'm a busy man, and a lot of my free time spent online is spent playing WoW with my girlfriend. So I kinda have priorities. We'll see. |

Yes, as I said before, the Global version of Lunia is a hole full of feces, and should not even be considered joining. Don't even go on the site. However, the other versions are good, and Japanese Lunia, or JLunia is the best choice. |
