Player 1 - Pit (Me) Player 2 - Link (Chew Toy) Player 3 - Falco (Rival and Spammer) Player 4 - Sonic (Nuisance) Okay, above are the players and their role in the story (preety much). This was going to be my second real match, and by far the laggiest (I'd say 30 minutes real time). It started off with me going for Link, and getting my ass handed to me almost. So I decided to go after Falco. That's when he started playing. Shoot... Shoot... Shoot. That was him. A general spammer. Whenever I got in close he used his Down + B on me. So, eventually, I was able to raise my shield and deflect two of his attacks back to him. Then I went in and attacked him. After that confrontation, I lost. Anyway, the match continued. At one point I smacked around Link and Sonic, Falco rushing over after recently dieing by my hand. While I had been losing at the start, I was recovering fast. I was coming up beside Falco Link ended up being chewed up by either myself or Falco, and Sonic was a nuisance coming in and smacking me around every now and again. Final ten seconds, and Falco seemed to be in the lead. 5 seconds. I was about to be smacked. 4 seconds. I was flying. 3 Seconds. I recovered. 2 Seconds. Smacked again. 1 Second. About to die. TIME. Just survived, although I knew either I was going to Sudden Death Falco because he enjoys spamming, or he won. I watched as the screen faded, expecting to see the Lilap Wars symbol. To my surprise, I see a red Bow and Arrow, followed by a black Pit spinning two small blades around saying "You cannot defeat me!" I decided to think back, and realised this (which happens to be the moral): Spammers never win. The lag helped me survive, and even guided me when I tried to do something unsuccesful. That was the short version. If you want a more in-depth story of the battle, PM me and I'll give you every possible detail that I an remember. This story is short because I promised my brother a match after that one. |

Sounds as though you were playing a timed match. I prefer stocks myself. It discourages spammers from stealing your hard work. I do have a brawl story of my own but I'll post in a different topic. One that I played with real life folks and that I never want to go back to the same place. Cool, you have wifi, you should challenge us Kradenettes sometimes. Wifi unfortunately works on Peer 2 Peer servers so everyone's connections determine whether there is lag or not. |

Don't worry, I will sometime. And wait, you can have Stock matches? I didn't know that O.o We were having a two minute timed match. And in stock, hard work can still be stolen. It just wont really matter in the end if it is. |

With friend code battles you can set up matches like you can do with a local match. Just no special brawls. Only the host can make those changes so choose the host who is for sure going to set it to stock matches. The limit is everyone's items and stage choices are chosen at random so if you want an itemless match you should get everyone to agree to turn their items off. Stocks aren't stolen as much. Sure someone else can kill off a stock but they don't work on a point system. I remember playing a With Anyone match as Pikachu vs. Snake and Samus. Snake blasted Samus off the stage but I managed to hit Samus with one of Pikachu's projectiles at the last second before she got KOed. Guess who got the point? With stocks it is whoever survives last is the winner. A bit more fair. Edit: I reread your first post. I can't tell if it's a FC battle or WA. If it's WA then it is only 2 minute timed matches. A Haven for Ike n00bs who can steal all your hard work and hear the dreadful "I fight for my friends" at the victory screen. |

It was a WA. And I resent that Ike comment, as he happens to be one of my better playing characters. |

Key word is n00b.. n00b I'm not insulting good Ikes. I just don't like when I build up damage to other players and then Ike just had to do a forward smash or tilt and get a point they really don't deserve. I play a good Pikachu and I would be upset if everyone said all Pikachus do is spam thunder. That's what most Pikachus do on WA. I only over use it when there is Smash Balls in play because Thunder breaks them very quickly. |

In my first match I versed a Pikachu that came third. The one who came second was a Ganondorf who was really good, and a spammer Zelda came first. The Pikachu was really good. |

Spammers never win indeed. When I see one, they get an added bonus of getting their ***** kicked. Also, I was playing around my friends. He was Pikachu, I was Meta Knight and his brother was Toon Link. It was on Hyrule Temple. At one point in the match, Toon Link got a smash ball and used it on me. I went flying towards the center of the stage where the hole to the lower bit is and my friend as Pikachu threw a Smart Bomb at me. ...Yeah, not one of my finest moments. >_> |
