I'm highly skeptical, of course, but it does sound pretty cool. I like the idea of a "Don Quixote" kind of hero, and real-time flooding, heightened sense of peril, and steampunk elements would all be super sweet. However, yeah, I won't believe it until there's an official announcement.

As in, more of the character Zelda? Hm, yes, one does wonder why she's not actually starred in one of the games bearing her name. Perhaps there's a reason that I haven't heard of?

I thought it was agreed upon, as a gaming community, that those games don't exist.

It is. It's still the reason Zelda doesn't get any games. |

I love it when good games I like get lots and lots of sequels and franchise continuations. That's why I love how Zelda keeps on living and thriving just like Mario and Metroid and Pokemon (especially Pokemon; never mind what Dracobolt says >_________________________________________________________>). I'd wish I were somehow living in an alternate reality where there are as many epic Golden Sun games and media as there are Mega Man games and media. =D At the same time, since Zelda is that kind of ever-expanding franchise, to me it's pretty much "Of course there'll be more Zelda games in the future, guaranteed", so that's why a big purported interview like that is interesting to read over, but to me it's not really worth dissecting and paying a HUGE amount of attention to. I'll be waiting until this Zelda is actually shown through some teaser screens to get excited. =) |

True, and that's a point I wanted to make. But then forgot. Whether a rumor is true or not doesn't matter. I, personally, cannot see an end to the Zelda series. In fact, it'll probably only stop when Nintendo dies. There's another coming, even if not yet... |

There will be another Zelda game. I say this knowing that it is fact. There is no way this cannot happen. Aonuma and Miyamoto could die in a tragic car accident tomorrow and there would still be another, I'm sure of it. This is merely a supposed interview about what the next one might be like. And as "Aonuma" says in the interview, they're pretty much not sure if they can call it a Zelda game at all. Could very well be a spin-off. Hell, I would like to see this game for one reason... the main character isn't Link. No, don't get me wrong, I love Link. I would happily play a game that he stars in and be thrilled. But, it is always Link who defeats Ganon. That's the nature of the rebirth that is sparked by the goddesses and the Triforce itself. That's how it happens. And so this upstart thinks he's the Hero of Time and goes off, becoming more insane and deluded into thinking he is Link. He will fight all of Ganon's forces, save an element of the world as it floods, and eventually confront the big bad guy himself. ...and will fail. He cannot beat him, he cannot win, he will lose... and he will likely die. Imagine, if you will, the final scene. A huge, epic battle with Ganon... but in the end, even if you "win", you don't. The world still ends, Ganon still lives on... and he kills you. And the game ends as you die, knowing at last that you aren't Link, you were wrong. You were deluded. And now you're dead. ... It's depressing. But I have to say... that would be the next logical progression in the way that games are represented as art. It'll join games like Shadow of the Colossus in which you win by losing. Just... I think it's a beautiful thing to think about. And I, for one, would love to see it as a Zelda spinoff. I doubt it would happen... but I would pay for it. |

This would all be cel-shaded you realize? Ctrl-F 'illicit' on the first page of this topic to find a word misused that wouldn't be mistranslated (elicit and illicit are spelled differently and are almost certainly SAID differently in Japanese). Re: this is copypasta. Made of candy, but the bad kind that rots your teeth and has dull flavour and makes you fat. And no way in hell would they call it a Legend of Zelda game if Link didn't star in it, or even put the "Legend of Zelda" in it, anymore than "Luigi's Mansion" had "Super Mario" |

New game- Okay. Spin-off- wonderful. Legend of Zelda- Over Miyamoto's stone-dead body if anything I've read about him is true. I came off as a bit harsh in earlier posts, I mean it really would be a cool idea and much fun both plot and canon-wise. But if it came out with the name 'Legend of Zelda' then, no, sorry, but no. I'd still play and enjoy it for what it's worth, but no... |
