Come and Take It - Temple Tsundere

In every platform game ever made, there's always been THAT level: The god-forsaken water level that drives the majority of players insane. So, let's make a list of crappy water levels that killed players over and over: Super Mario 64: Wet-Dry World, Dire Dire Docks Ocarina of Time: Water Temple Majora's Mask: Great Bay Temple Every Ecco Game Ever Made Sonic The Hedgehog: Labryinth Zone Sonic 2: Aquatic Ruin Zone, the second part of Chemical Plant Zone Sonic 3: Hydrocity Zone Sonic Adventure 2: Aquatic Mine Mega Man 4: Dive Man's Stage, I think Toad Man qualifies as well Super Mario Sunshine: 9/10ths of the game Star Fox 64: Aquas, I guess Zoness can go here (Noticing a pattern yet?) I know there's one in Ratchet and Clank, I just can't think of it. Shadow of The Colossus: The Eel Colossus The Lost Age: Aqua Rock, Sea of Time -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, as you can see, there have been a number of obnoxious water levels. Can you Templers think of any more? |

In KoTOR, on Manaan, not the city part but JUST the actual water part. I hated that part. |

Seconded. Water levels suck because A. You can drown B. Movement is always a little funky C. Sometimes there are creepy fish things that swim around. OH but water levels in Spyro the Dragon were fun. |

In Conker's Bad Fur Day for N64, the water level U-Bend Blues, according to TVTropes, ended many player's games prematurely. Strangely enough, that was not the part of the game that stopped me from playing for a year as I had made it through that just fine: it was the swimming portions of the Sewage Sucks part. |

Mercury Lighthouse wasn't so bad. I actually managed to make it through the OoT Water Temple without a guide or anything, too. But for me, Aqua Rock in TLA was worse than Air's Rock. Ugh.

Normally, the reason water levels are annoying is that you must swim through it, and therefore must put up with a totally different movement system that isn't as fluid as the land-based stuff. Mercury Lighthouse and Aqua Rock are pretty much just normal land-based dungeons painted blue, so those aren't really "water levels" in the annoyance-gameplay sense, I think. But grats on the OoT thing there, Draco. O_O; |

I found the Water Temple in OoT pretty easy. The one in Twilight Princess was more annoying though. The worst water level I could name is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If any of you have played that game, you will understand what I am talking about. |

The Fish King's Belly in OoT sucked, though that wasn't entirely underwater. But it was in a fish, which lives in the water, so it counts. Water levels in the LoZ oracle games were fun, though. You got to be a mermaid-Link. |

Super Metroid had Maridia, Metroid Prime had the Sunken Frigate, Echoes had the submerged portion of the second temple thingy, both Pikmin games could qualify with most any body of water in regards to the non-blue pikmin, Mega Man Zero 3 had the Sunken Library, though it's more of a problem when one is trying to ace it, Kingdom Hearts had Atlantica or however its spelled, Star Wars: Dark Forces had something similar in an absurdly spacious sewer system level that even had a scientific/military/whateveritwas complex inside it, and while I can't think of any more, TV Tropes has a wonderful list. |

QFT. Unfortunatly, it wasn't until I was 2/3 hits into the boss battle for that dungeon (JabuJabu's belly 8D) that I figured out you had to TAP the cross pad to move quickly. >_>; Up till then I was doing a hand-cramping diagonal tap to move slowly. Made me sad, but I finally stopped mourning the loss of my flippers XD I think Lakebed Temple in LoZ TP was my favorite dungeon in that game o.o; However, ANYTHING with a rising water level that chases you/breath-holding feature a level of UTTER LOSS. I don't need the stress and freak out! D; |

Bomberman Hero - the second battle against the lion-sphinx dude. Bango Kazooie - Clanker's Cavern (OH GOD AWKWARD CONTROLS) God of War - that one part in that tunnel with the moving grates that if you even touch you get nailed to and killed instantly. |

Clanker's Cavern... *shudders* It always scared me to go down and get the jiggy at the very bottom because I was afraid Banjo would run out of air and that was scary. Also, the water level in Skies of Arcadia...! Ugh, especially the early part with the diving suit.

O noz I got lots to update. O_o Oddly enough, i'd consider Rusty Bucket Bay harder than Clanker's Cavern simply since you don't have to be underwater to drown, and I know you have to go in that water for at least three Jiggies. |

It's not a water 'Level', but I freaking hate swimming in Shadow of the Collosus. I'm sorry, but the camera is (intentionally) the main antagonist for the whole game, and the depth/speed perception is raped any time Wander steps in the water >_< |

RUSTYBUCKETBAYRUSTYBUCKETBARRUSTYBUCKETBAY. I just messed around on Banjo during the weekend and that level was HELL! Gimmie good old Jolly Roger's anyday. Skies of Arcadia's was VERY ANNOYING. I HATE THAT DIVING SUIT! Super Paper Mario's 3-2 for awkward controls. The amout of times I got hurt... LAKEBED TEMPLE. WATER TEMPLE. Mario Party 3's Blooper Sea board. You're about to get the star and BAM! A BULLET BILL HITS YOU! Any Sonic water level. Super Mario Galaxy's Beach Bowl Galaxy. It was waaaay too small. Final Fantasy III Temple of Time: SO. GOD. DAMN. HARD. Super Mario Sunshine Noki Bay's Boss. Clean your own teeth, you goddamn sludge infested eel! Lylatwars Aquas. I had to get through that level to get to Zonness, the best level in the game. ;_; Donkey Kong 64's Galleon level. The onyl banana I enjoyed getting was the Mermaid one. |

All this talk of Banjo-Kazooie reminds me that I miss Banjo-Kazooie. I have no idea where my copy of the original OR the sequel went, either. *sads* |
