Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

What causes brawl's button lag? Ping latency! The more latency between you and your worthless sack of meat you're going to beat up friend, the more button lag you experiance. Typically you stop noticing at around 16ms (milliseconds) that time ain't a flowing right. (Brawl runs at the standard 60hz, which means that latencty below 16.6 milliseconds is less than one frame - the smallest amount of time each increment of the game goes by. You can probably take delays of up to 33ms (two frames) without ill effect or much notice. Lin, I'd say my button lag is 5 frames.

So, how do you reduce latency?

Here's a link to one guy trying.

And a video he links to that cut his latency on WoW by 2/3rds

Method of the Registry modding

I don't know how reliable this is, and more to the point, you're poking around in the registry, which is tantamount to performing brain surgury on your pons without supervision.

There are relevant links to smashboards there. Sadly I can't use the same IP as all of you, we use Magma in our house.

Speedtest should be able to tell you your latency to different parts of the world here.
Check a server in your state here vs one in a state near someone you know.

The server nearest Princek on that site, Rodonopolis, Brazil, gives me a latancy of 500 milliseconds, an insane in the membrane amount (me and him will probably never be able to play, as that's button lag of a literal half second. Not to mention its upload rate sucks enough that it actually impacts the wii's ability to record your moves being sent back.)

I don't know much about it. Test the ping command
Code:

cmd /k ping www.google.com
or any website of your choice for your own modem's estimate. Try to ping the ISP of whoever you wanna play (there are ways to look it up in the linked topics) for the best guess as to how much button lag you'll have.
