Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

I should be getting brawl in 5 days

Yep. According to GameFAQs brawl comes out here in 6 days, and because I've got it pre-ordered I get brawl one day earlier.

What's the point of this topic...? A few reasons.

Firstly, who do you suggest as a first character? I'm thinking about using either Marth or Pit.

And what stage? I want to start out as a beginner with my brother before I get to more advanced things. I mean, the latest SSB that I've played was the first.

Well, Pit is real easy to use, even for beginners because as long as he isn't knocked out from an attack he can use his up B special and get back onto the stage. From anywhere. That's how a lot of my friends learned to play, they couldn't get back on the stage with anyone but Pit. Kirby might be another good choice just because he also has amazing recovery abilities.

As for the stage, pick Final Destination or Battlefield because they're about as standard as you can get, no cannons or bombs, or trees blowing you off the edge. They don't move, they don't have blocks that break or platforms that vanish. So go with them.
Or else, try Shadow Moses because its another stage with no hazards, and it has the two walls to box your character in, meaning you'll bounce around a lot and be hard to kill. Its a good stage for people who aren't good at making it back to the level when they're knocked away.

I'd also recommend playing through the adventure mode, the Supspace Emmisary because that'll get you familiarized with the controls, lots of different characters, and you'll unlock a lot of stuff.

Shadow moses isn't that great. The wall of pain trick is very easy to do if you don't break them.

The character you choose is of your own preference. I wouldn't bother looking at what others want from you.

I got this game Saturday. I'll be using Zelda, like I did in Melee.

I don't have a Wii yet though. >.>

Yay, my wifi is working again. ^_^ So I'll be joining in...25 days, using Peach, Ike, Dedede and Diddy Kong.

Oh Kiki. Once you get the Wii I can definitely feel none of our matches will be serious at all.

And another one who skipped a whole generation of Smash. I played 64 but never played Melee.

I've played all three.

Of course, when I was five, I thought Smash was about all the Nintendo characters teaming up to defeat Bowser. XD

I can see it now...Lin, Kiki, on the Halberd...

...And thus, the taunts begin.

Next match I decided to be Ness. And another player decided to be Ness too!

OKEH! OKEH! OKEH! OKEH!

It all started on New Pork City with me as PT and another as Meta Knight. it seems NPC is the best way to get taunting buddies in stranger matches.
