lolopinions Now, to be more serious. Because this is a subsection meant for actual discussion, not shameless post count boosting. Pokémon cannot objectively be said to "suck" due to the simple fact that we have no way of acquiring an objective opinion. All opinions that may be obtained were, are, and will be made fallible in this regard by the influence of preexisting concepts. However, this does not prevent valid opinions from existing. For instance, as you might have noticed, I personally find the concept of catching such legendaries as Arceus, Palkia, and Dialga rather ridiculous, to the point of derailing the already fragile willing suspension of disbelief. It's already bad enough, in my not so humble opinion, that you can catch beings on par with Rayquaza, Kyogre, and Groudon, and even the earlier legendaries. However, that alone doesn't ruin the series for me. It just reduces the possible enjoyment. |

Lach! That's the sort of constructive opinion I liek to hear! Really, you can't say ANYTHING "sucks" like it's the truth everyone must follow because there'll always be the portion of the fanbase who DOES like it.So anyway, I think the anime nowadays is just plain wrong, though it's because of that that I like each of the yearly movies because they're well-animated extended episodes that're not super-repetitive affairs with the grating TR motto and "Pokemon of the Day" stuff. (The anime is pure nostalgic magic for its first two seasons, though.) What I love about Pokemon is each individual creature's design elements and how they relate to each other and all that. (The unusually under-achieving and blobby Misdreavus from the past evolving to the thematically trippy Mismagius in the present is a prime example.) And the big reason I became this type of appreciator is Pokebeach.com, which has now posted high-quality scans of EVERY POKEMON CARD EVER MADE. The artwork on a lot of the later cards go a long way in making some of the 3rd and 4th gen Pokes look much better than they would otherwise. :/ |

...I used to be obsessed but then I stopped.... I haven't touched or watched anything Pokemon (EXCEPT FOR ADORABLE BULBASAUR PENCIL SHARPENERS, PIKACHU PLUSHIES, AND PLASTIC CHARMANDER TOYS!!!!!!) in about 9 years. |

I loved the first two seasons, but kind of stopped watching after that. I've been watching a bit of the Diamond and Pearl Series though, which is pretty good, actually. Still, the thing that gets me the most is that Ash never keeps his Pokemon! If he actually kept them and trained them he'd be the most pwnage guy in existence! |

The show doesn't really follow the mentality of the games. Instead of the acquisition of power and prestige that game players would have, the show's really only about morality, friendship, and determination |

Tis' true. Still, isn't his ultimate goal to be a Pokemon Master? He'd be that already if he still had his original dudes. |

What kind of Pokemon master? There's the Pokemon master that catches 'em all, and there's the Pokemon master that beats all the Elite Fours and Champions around the world. (I think there's two kinds like that.)Essentially, the show is all about the second type of Pokemon mastery while pretty much discarding the first. And you'd only need several Pokes to be able to do the second type. |

It should be noted that Ash is absolutely made of lose and fail when it comes to catching the 'mons. And I mean horrible. Even counting those he only temporarily had, he's only had 47 out of... well, over 450 by now, I believe. |

I liked the Kanto and Johto bits, but after that it got kinda old and stupid, in my opinion. It seems to me that most of the new Pokemon (with the exception of legendaries) are just weirder-looking versions of the originals, with nigh-impossible-to-pronounce names. |

I hate Pokemon cause all the episodes are the same. Its all of this crap, "Ash walking around, finds a person, helps their pokemon or whatever, Team Rocket spots that Pokemon, BLAH BLAH BLAH, Team Rocket captures Pokemon, Ash tells Pickachu to use thunder, Team Rocket blasts off again :annoyed: , Everyone lived happily ever after." |

Ironically, Squee, if I had to decide I'd say I prefer the newer ones over the originals, simply because the old ones have been around for so long they seem tired. |
