I've played both Ragnarok and Fly for Fun (Flyff), two MMORPGs with huge-ass download files that take like a week to get running. My computer crashed recently so I've lost BOTH games, though my accounts are saved online, and I haven't played either one activly for a couple months/weeks. (I've been logging in just to keep my characters from being deleted) I feel like playing something, but they're huge files and I don't really want both. I play Lightside Legends Rag and have a level 90 knight, a couple tens of cards and a bunch of other items I wouldn't like to lose, but will if there's a server the ToK tends to gravitate towards. (I think Kris's on Cake or RebirthRO?) On Flyff, it's nothing special, but I DO have two IRL friends who I used to play with online all the time. So, anyone ever played Flyff before? I can't decide. |

I kept trying to play Flyff. It never worked, for reasons I don't remember. I tend not to play MMo's anymore, but I'd go with Ragnarok. However, I'd also suggest Mabinobi. It happens to be awesome. The only reason I don't play it is because my computer turns itself off after about seven minutes of playing. |

If you ever consider Maplestory, and REALLY knowing how to play, I suggest going to a private server called OdinMS. There are things that don't work, such as NPCs you are unable to talk to, but that does not impact much. UPSIDES: 1. Not many people, thus lowering Maplestory's notorious and horrible community. 2. 8x exp plus an increased monster spawn and item drop rate. 3. Admins, unlike in regular MS, are very active. Hacking is virtually nonexistant. 4. More enjoyment factor because you don't have to hack n' slash as much to level. DOWNSIDES: 1. Lots of things still don't work, as the updates keep rolling in. 2. You need to download Maplestory first. 3. You need to do your homework first before playing efficiently. 4. There isn't many people because there's a limit to how many are in. Most of the time, you will find yourself in the login queue, or waiting room, for some time before finally getting in. 5. Because the server is in Germany, prepare for some lag. 6. After joining the OdinMS forum, you need to wait 3 days in order to make a GameID. http://www.odinms.de/ This server, in technical terms, is NOT illegal. If it were, Nexon wouldve destroyed it. |

Screw Maplestory... Go with Mabinogi. If you do play Mabi, make a character on the Tarlach server, I'll help you out. |

Other: Endless Online. You download it on, but it doesn't take long so don't worry. |

Everything I have known up to the moment I read this post was a LIE. I'd say go with a MMO you need to pay for, simply because those tend to be the best. WoW is an obvious choice, but good underdogs include City of Heroes/Villians, Tabula Rasa, pretty much anything NCSoft makes. If you MUST go with a free MMO, then Guild Wars all the way. Also, not FFXI. FFXI sucks. |

I don't see why you'd want to pay for something that you'll almost inevitably quit, regardless of whether it's in a few months or years from now... Go with a free one, IMO. Other than that, I don't really have anything to add. The only one I ever really played was Runescape, and I kind of dabbled in MapleStory, but not much... |
