Watch this I was browsing through the forum where Lin found her "I like Ike" picture, when I discovered a topic stating that Olimar gets super armor frames when he uses his down B. This means he won't flinch or get knocked back by any attack that hits him. 8D |

So basically like Marth's Counter. *doesn't have Brawl. D=* But does it do any damage to nearby smashers? |

No, it's not like Marth's counter. Super armor frames is fighting game lingo for "yeah, I'll take damage but I'm still going to hit you." Like Juggernaut or the Hulk's attacks in Marvel vs. Capcom, you execute the attack and you could normally get your attack stuffed, like eating a face full of Maximum Spider. But, because of the super armor frames, which are frames where you don't care about knockback, you stuff the attack they were going to stuff you with at the cost of taking damage. Marth's counter grants invincibility frames, if memory serves. You don't take damage for the frames you're using it, and if attacked will use a particular sword strike. Juggernaut and Olimar take damage. Marth does not. Furthermore, Jugz's super armor frames can be used in attacks, which means that he can get through pokes and score damage and combos. I don't know if Olimar's down+B does damage, but if it doesn't, Jugz has a distinct advantage there. Though, if Olimar can do something right after his attack (as in, a fairly nonexistant recovery time from the down+B ), then it would work just as well. Juggernaut and Olimar (potentially) can combo out of their superarmor frames. Marth cannot combo afterwards because he has too much recovery time from his predesignated attack. And that's super armor frames versus invincibility frames. |

Correct; he still takes damage, but doesn't suffer any flinch or knockback. And no, the move doesn't deal damage. It does, however, have virtually no recovery time, as demonstrated in the video when Olimar began using it repeatedly. So basically, somebody attacks you, you use down-B to avoid knockback/flinching, and can immediately follow up with a smash attack or the like. |
